Calling Number Display
Calling Number Display shows the number of the person calling your mobile phone (unless their number is blocked). This feature is only available for calls made from Australia.
Block your phone number when you place a call
Dial *#31# on your mobile phone then press the ‘call’ button. You can block your phone number on a permanent or call-by-call basis.
Call-by-call blocking
To block on a call-by-call basis:
- From a home phone: dial 1831 then the number you are calling
- From a mobile phone: dial #31# then the number you are calling
Permanent blocking
- Home phones: you can remove your name, phone number and address from White Pages® directory listings or directory assistance services. Also hide your number on Calling Number Display when you call others. A monthly fee of $2.93 applies for residential services (this appears under Services and Equipment charges on your bill).
- Mobile phones: most mobiles include a "show my caller ID" setting which you can turn off. It is usually located in Main Menu, then Tools or Settings, then Phone. For more information, please check your mobile phone manual. If you don't have your manual handy, you can view it online.
Call-by-call unblocking
If your number is permanently blocked, you can choose to unblock calls on a case-by-case basis:
- From a home phone: dial 1832 then the number you are calling
- From a mobile phone: dial *31# then the number you are calling
Check if callers can see your telephone number
- On a home phone: call 127 220 and listen to the announcement
- On a mobile phone: call *#31# then press the send/call button. A message will be displayed on your screen.
