Help your teams boost their productivity and creativity with Microsoft AI

In this rapid changing tech landscape where much is expected of workers, tools to boost productivity and creativity can come in handy. This is why a part of the workforce is turning to Artificial Intelligence (AI) to help ease the effort and reduce the time it takes to complete tasks and ensure quality output.

One AI tool that perfectly suits this requirement is Microsoft Copilot, which can remove a lot of the heavy lifting in one’s day-to-day workflow. Microsoft offering Copilots for Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Microsoft Security, and GitHub.

In the recent Your Business Optimised roadshow that brought Telstra and its strategic partners across Australia to discuss emerging challenges, opportunities, and possibilities for enterprise organisations. AI experts from Microsoft, Telstra, and Telstra Purple got together to discuss how AI can help transform workflows – and eventually, workplaces – for the better.

An AI assistant for your unique business requirements

Microsoft is integrating AI into its powerful Cloud offerings to rapidly accelerate an organisation’s productivity and creativity with a Copilot for everyone, backed by its highly regarded position as a responsible cloud provider that looks after the security and integrity of data.

“We’re delivering tools and services to help you build your own intelligent apps,” shares Shane Baldacchino, Chief Architect at Microsoft ANZ. “The ability to build your own Copilots, the tooling to not only leverage our Copilot, but to be able to build your own.”

Businesses can leverage the power of Microsoft Copilot to fit specific requirements – creating solutions that can better optimise the workflows of their teams. From simple tasks like helping organise Teams messages and email inboxes to more complex ones like assistance with drafting presentations and documents according to your brand tone and voice, you can build a Copilot that can help your people do and achieve more.

A reliable, trusted assistant

While there are other AI models and services in the market, Microsoft’s AI Copilot runs on trust – ensuring that security is top priority and responsible AI remains a core ethic for the tech leaders.

“The main difference here is that we’re running a copy of OpenAI’s model on your behalf in a private way. You can access it via a private endpoint, but most importantly, we will not leverage or store the prompts” says Shane.

Empowering staff

Integrating Copilots into Microsoft services and GitHub marks the initiation of AI accessibility, paving the way for increased opportunities for both businesses and individuals to harness the power of this technology.

According to Glenn Carmichael, Head of Tech Strategy – Workplace Digitisation at Telstra Purple, "With more people with the skill to clearly communicate their intent to computers using AI Copilots, that’s going to make a huge difference to the productivity of our workforce," Glenn emphasises that AI is not just changing the way we work; it has already reshaped our work landscape. Recent surveys, including one by IT Brief Australia, indicate that 83% of people have actively incorporated AI into their work routines over the last six months. Among these, a 81% believe that AI has saved them and their companies valuable time, with a similar percentage attributing AI to fostering innovation and creativity.

Managers play a pivotal role in shaping the AI landscape by enabling in-house early adopters to explore diverse approaches. It involves aligning incentives, cultivating a supportive culture, and offering clear guidelines for experimentation. The focus should extend beyond the current AI models, with an emphasis on adapting processes for future iterations. Waiting is a risk in the rapidly evolving AI domain, and organisations are urged to embrace short-term experimentation to avoid falling behind.

Unlocking versatility

Microsoft Copilot is truly a versatile tool, and its adaptability extends to specific use cases in various industries, making it a valuable asset for enhancing operations, customer service, and beyond. The opportune moment to embrace Microsoft Copilot is now, and the guidance of a reliable partner is indispensable for a smoother onboarding process.

In conclusion Glenn highlights the rapid evolution of AI, emphasising the need for a strategic approach to adoption and a continual assessment of technological advancements. This is where Telstra Purple can assist with implementing tailored AI solutions.
