We can help you move your existing Telstra services and even set up new ones. Services include Home Broadband, Home Phone and Foxtel from Telstra. Our online request form only takes about 10 minutes and we’ll do the rest.

What you'll need

To arrange your move online, you’ll need your:

  • My Account login details or register now to manage your services online
  • New address details
  • Preferred disconnection and connection date/s

We need 24-48 hours to complete your move. But the more notice you give us the better, because in some cases a technician visit is required.

Once you've booked

After you’ve booked your move request online, we’ll contact you within 24-48 hours to confirm:

  • Your connection and disconnection date availability
  •  If a remote connection is possible, or if a technician visit is required

Moving your Home Phone and Broadband


Book your move online and tell us your moving date. We’ll then make sure that your home services are activated so that you can: 

  • Set up your Telstra Home Broadband and/or
  • Set up your Telstra Home Phone line 

After you’ve booked your move request online, we’ll let you know within 24-48 hours if a remote connection is possible, or if a technician visit is required. There are no additional fees for a technician to visit your home.


Need to move Foxtel from Telstra?
Moving Foxtel from Telstra is a separate cost, priced at $100. Remember to take your existing equipment with you. A Foxtel technician will then visit your new home to complete the installation process.

Frequently asked questions

How much notice do I need to give Telstra before moving?

 

  • If you’ve left it to the last minute, you can request next day connection/disconnection when you book online and in most cases we can meet your needs.

  • However, the more notice you give us, the more likely we’ll be able to move your services on the specific day you want, especially if a technician visit is required.

 

A technician visit may be required if the place you’re moving to:

  • Has not had an active phone line for a long period of time
  • Has been recently renovated

 

  • Yes, someone over the age of 18 needs to be home.

 

  • A technician needs to physically attend your local exchange and disconnect the services from your old home, connect the services at your new address, and then ensure that the connection is working properly between the exchange and your new home.

 

  • In most cases a new modem will not be required
  • If a new modem is required, we’ll let you know within 24-48 hours of receiving your application

 

  • In most cases, yes
  • However, if you’re moving to an address that’s serviced by a different telephone exchange, you’ll be provided with a new phone number

 

  • Your plan and contract will remain unchanged unless you wish to add new products or services to your account.

 

  • It’s unlikely, but if this is the case, you’ll need to provide documentation to prove that you’re moving to the new address
  • We’ll be in contact to let you know what documentation you need to provide.

 

 


Additional charges may apply for non-standard installations (such as installations that are more complex or in some remote/regional areas) and additional outlets. In-home services are not available in all areas and are not available for some devices, software and operating systems. If you are not moving your Telstra broadband as part of your move, you will require an active broadband connection and hardware to receive the full benefits of the TotalMove service. Services do not include the cost of any software/hardware and you are responsible for any data charges.  Telstra is not responsible for any loss of data and we recommend back up prior to any appointment. 

If you cancel your technician appointment without providing 24 hours advance notice, we may charge you a $99 fee. 

A temporary connection charge applies if your home phone service is connected for three months or less.

An eligible pensioner may contact us to apply to receive the Telstra Pensioner Discount for their Telstra home phone service connection at their principal place of residence only. Customers must re-apply for the concession if they are new or returning to Telstra.
