This article gives you step-by-step instructions to add a Telstra Mail email account to your Windows Mail 10 program, or to modify your email account. It includes the advanced mail server details you’ll need.

Before you start

You'll need your Telstra Mail email address and password.

Forgotten something? Retrieve your email address or password here.

Good to know:

  • You may incur data charges when you setup and use your Telstra Mail account.


To add your Telstra email address to Windows Mail 10:

  1. Open Windows Mail 10, and select Settings  - the cog symbol

  2. Select Manage Accounts then select Add Account

  3. Select Other account (POP, IMAP)

  4. Enter your email address and password, then select Sign in

  5. Your email account should be set up. Select Done.

To modify your email account settings:


  1. Open Windows Mail 10, and select Settings  - the cog symbol

  2. Select Manage Accounts then select the email account you want to modify, to open the account settings section

  3. Select Change mailbox sync settings to update your syncing options. Please note: this is optional.

    Once completed select Done to return to Account settings

  4. Select Advanced mailbox settings

  5. Update your server settings:

    • For ‘Incoming email server’ enter: 993:1

    • For ‘Outgoing (SMTP) email server’ enter: 465:1

    • Make sure ‘Outgoing server requires authentication’ is ticked

    • Make sure ‘Use the same username and password for sending email’ is

    • Make sure ‘Require SSL for incoming email’ is ticked

    • Make sure ‘Require SSL for outgoing email is ticked

  6. Your email account should be modified. Select Done.
