How do I set up my Telstra Mail®?
Using the Set-up and Troubleshooting tool
If you’d like help with setting up your Telstra Mail® use our Set up and Troubleshooting tool, designed to assist you with everything from setting up your email, remote access and sending and receiving email.
Manual set up
To set up your Telstra Mail® manually you’ll need to know the server names and port numbers; this includes IMAP and POP configurations.
IMAP and POP both let you download emails to your phone, computer or tablet. The difference is:
IMAP syncs your email with the email server. So anything you do to your emails – like reply, delete or mark as read – will be updated on all your devices;
POP doesn’t sync your email with the mail server. So anything you do to your email will only appear on that device.
- If you're switching from using POP to IMAP, any folders you have set up in POP will be lost.
- To keep these folders, log into Webmail and re-create them before you change over.
- IMAP is the recommended setting for Telstra Mail customers.
