nbn New Development Charge
For new homes connected to the nbn that have never had internet before, there is a $300 nbn New Development Charge which you’ll need to pay to nbn co.

We can normally connect your Telstra home internet in 3 to 6 days after we process your order.
The Telstra Smart Modem 3 has a built-in 4G SIM, so if there is an outage it switches to our 4G mobile network to keep you connected.
Once the outage is fixed, the modem switches back to the fixed internet network. In many cases, you won’t even know this has happened.
4G coverage required. Backup speeds capped at 25/5 Mbps. Actual speeds may be lower.
You can use our digital returns method to return your old modem free of charge.

The nbn™ tier figures and ‘typical busy period speeds’ are not measures of customers’ actual in-premises speeds, which may be slower. Not all customers receive these speeds. nbn Fixed Wireless speeds experienced may be slower, and will vary throughout the day due to factors including the signal strength or obstruction of the antenna’s line of sight to the tower, weather conditions, tower and network capacity, and in-home setup; and actual speeds may be significantly impacted by congestion, particularly during the busy hours (7-11pm).
Your plan and add-ons may change (including price and inclusions). If you don’t like a change, you can change your plan or cancel your plan or add-ons. If you cancel, just pay out your device, accessories and services in full.

Standard installation includes self-installation of your modem, eligibility criteria applies. Extra charges apply for non-standard installation of Telstra and NBN Co equipment and for premises in new developments.
Mobile backup is available to premises in 4G coverage areas. Check coverage at telstra.com/coverage. Your mobile backup connection is capped at 25Mbps for downloads and 5Mbps for uploads. Actual speeds may be lower due to local conditions and content accessed.
If you have a medical alarm, lift phone or fire indicator panel, you need to register these services with nbn co by calling 1800 227 300. Medical alarms can also be registered online at nbn.com.au/medicalregister. It’s important to understand that registering these services won’t prevent them from being disconnected when moving to the nbn network or during power outages. As well as registering, you must also contact your medical alarm, lift phone or fire indicator panel provider to arrange the transfer of these services to the nbn network.
For Telstra Personal customers taking up a new home internet service. Roll onto Kayo Basic standard month-to-month fees after 12 months unless you change or cancel beforehand. Must sign up to Kayo via Telstra at https://hub.telstra.com.au/kayo. Not compatible with any other Kayo offer or third-party billing platforms.
If you cancel within 12 months, you will lose the remainder of, and cannot restart, the Kayo offer. Not available on Kayo One. Current Kayo One customers need to upgrade to Kayo Basic first to be eligible for this offer.
