What is DocuSign?
DocuSign is an e-signature and digital transaction management application that provides users with an easy, efficient and secure way to send and sign documents electronically.
Do I need to have a DocuSign account to sign Documents?
Signers do not need to have a DocuSign account and they do not need to buy anything. Signing with DocuSign is completely FREE.
What is an envelope?
An envelope is a container used to send one or more documents for signatures using the DocuSign system. An envelope can have multiple documents and several recipients. Each document in an envelope can have multiple pages.
Does it cost anything to download the DocuSign app?
It is FREE to download the DocuSign app.
Which operating systems are compatible with DocuSign?
DocuSign is currently compatible with iOS8.0+, Android 4.0.3+and Windows 8.0+ mobile and tablet devices. It is also compatible with Google Chrome 52.0.2743.82 m+, Firefox 3.0+, Safari 6.2+ and Internet Explorer 9+
What is the 33 character string of letters and numbers that appear in a box on the document I am being asked to sign?
This string of numbers and letters is a unique ID for the document that you have received that allows you to view, sign and save.
How can I access documents that I have signed if I do not have a DocuSign account?
You can access the document by referring to the automated DocuSign ‘Completed’ email that will have been sent to you after you signed the document.
Can I upload documents into DocuSign from my Cloud Storage account?
You can upload documents from your computer or online from cloud storage providers Box, Dropbox, One Drive, Google Drive, Evernote and Salesforce.

Am I able to sign documents in languages other than English?
DocuSign currently allows users to sign documents in 43 localised languages -Arabic, Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu, British English, Bulgarian, Chinese Simplified, Chinese Traditional, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (US) Estonian, Farsi, Finnish, French, French (Canada), German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portuguese), Romanian, Russian, Serbian-Latin, Slovakian, Slovenian, Spanish (Latin American), Spanish (Spain –Modern Sort, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Vietnamese.
Can I send documents in other languages?
DocuSign allows users to send Documents in 12 languages -English (US), Chinese simplified, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Portuguese (Portugal) Russian and Spanish.
I have several different users on my DocuSign account. Can my Dashboard reports show everyone’s usage?
The Dashboard shows only your envelopes, usage and activities.
What is the difference between ‘Add Signer’ and ‘Add CC’?
Signers are invited to sign a document, while CCs are added to the list as a Receive a copy recipient.
What extra authentication methods do I have?
Access Code –Your recipient must enter the access code you provide them with before they can view the envelope.
Can I send an envelope to two different people that share the same email address?
DocuSign allows you to add an email more than once with different signer names. Simply enter the same email address for each person and just use different names.
What do I do if a recipient did not receive the notification email?
Confirm that the email address was entered correctly, confirm with the recipient that the email wasn’t directed to their Spam Folder and if they did not receive the email after checking these things you can resend the email by going into Actions and choosing Resend.
Can I save my signature to use again in the future?
Yes you can save your signature using the Manage Identity feature. You can also edit your signature at any time.
Why does the returned document have a DocuSign envelope ID at the top?
Each envelope signed on the DocuSign Global network is unique. An envelope ID is assigned during the signing process to ensure there is an appropriate audit trail and to prevent any future tampering.
I want to cancel my 12 Month subscription. Are there any cancellation fees?
As 12 Month subscriptions are pre-paid in advance, the remaining unused months will be forfeited.
Is there any limit on the number of licences I can purchase on the Enterprise plan?
You may purchase as many licences as you need.
Why should I pay for DocuSign when I can sign documents with a pen for FREE?
DocuSign not only speeds up the entire process but also provides you with a full audit trail, so that you can see can instantly tell who has signed the document and when. You also save on postage and printing costs.
How do I know that my sensitive documents are not going to fall into the wrong hands?
DocuSign has some of the highest security features in the industry. It features 256 bit encryption, ISO2700 security certification, SSAE16 third party audit assurance certification, anti-tampering features and multi layered verification. Furthermore it exceeds the security requirements of banks and Fortune 500 companies globally.
Some of the recipients I will be sending documents to aren’t very technically savvy. Will this matter?
The great thing about DocuSign is that you don’t need to be. If you can use email, using DocuSign will be a breeze.
