Everything you need to know about Telstra's 5G Home or Business Internet plans, what's included and how to find the right fit.
Our 5G Internet delivers internet directly to your home or business via our 5G mobile network. You won't need a landline or technical skills to connect. Just plug in your modem, it connects to nearby 5G mobile towers and you're online.
We offer a range of 5G Internet plans to suit your household, business needs and budgets. Our two newest plans are ideal for smaller households or small businesses with lower demand internet usage for browsing, emails or streaming.
Every 5G plan should be enough for most everyday activities like connecting on social media and web browsing, though businesses or households with heavier usage like constant video streaming or transferring large files may need more. While all three plans include 1000GB of data per month, the speeds and what happens once you exceed that data allowance vary between plans - so it's worth thinking about how many people are on your connection and how much speed your team or household relies on day to day.
All 5G Home and Business plans include:
5G Home and Business Internet plans do not include a phone line and do not support devices that rely on this like lifts, medical alerts or security alarms.
We monitor and update our speeds regularly. For the latest info, visit 5G Internet plans.
Your internet speed is affected by things like the distance between your modem and the nearest 5G mobile tower, how many users are online, weather and your setup. To help optimise your setup, try placing your modem up high on a shelf, table or other surface off the floor and keep it away from large appliances or enclosed spaces.
Follow our guide for more easy tips, use the modem placement guide in the My Telstra app to help find the strongest signal in your building or read our online guide.
We offer three 5G Home Internet plans to suit different household sizes and budgets. All three plans share the same great inclusions, so the main difference is speed and how many people are using the connection at once. For estimated speeds and pricing, see the 5G Home Internet plans page.
If your household has multiple active devices or regularly downloads large files, the Premium plan or nbn® may be a better fit.
The Premium 5G Home Internet plan has 300Mbps average download speeds and 30Mbps average upload speeds (typical download speed range 80-570 Mbps and 5 Mbps upload) 7-11pm.1 Refer to 1.

1. We’re still calculating typical busy period speeds (7-11pm) (averages and ranges) on this plan. The speed information is an estimate only and is subject to change. Speeds experienced may be slower, can vary due to a number of factors and will change over time.
Choose from three Business Internet Plans - each built for small teams who need a connection for video conferencing, file sharing and keeping devices connected. 5G Business Internet might be right if it's available at your location because it offers a simple, network cable-free business internet solution if you don’t mind variable speeds. 2. We’re still calculating typical busy period speeds (9am-5pm) (averages and ranges) on this plan. The speed information is an estimate only and is subject to change. Speeds experienced may be slower, can vary due to a number of factors and will change over time.
Service availability: Service not available to all areas or all premises. Initial checks may show you are eligible for this service however actual availability will be confirmed after order.
Voice services: This plan does not include a fixed voice service and you will not be able to use it to make or receive calls or support a lift, security or medical alarm.
Speed: Speeds experienced may be slower over Wi-Fi and can also be impacted by other factors such as the distance and line of sight between the serving 5G mobile tower and the modem, the number of users online, where your modem is located and how far you are from it, weather, congestions and your in-home set up.
Estimated average/typical busy period speeds/ranges are for new 5G Internet services only. Average/typical busy period speeds/ranges for existing 5G Internet services may be slower.
Data allowance: If you’re on a Premium 5G Internet plan and exceed your included data allowance, your download speed will be capped at 25 Mbps and your upload speed at 5 Mbps, and may be slowed further in busy periods until your next billing month. There is no option to top up your data or move to a higher data plan.
If you’re on a Basic or Essential 5G Internet plan and exceed your allowance, your upload and download speed will be slowed to 1.5 Mbps or below until your next billing cycle. 1.5 Mbps supports some ordinary internet activity (e.g. working from a web browser, emails, and data calls), although limited to a single user at any time and content may be slow to load. 1.5 Mbps isn't suitable for large file downloads, HD and 4K video or other high-data speed applications like video conferencing, and may not support ordinary use of internet-dependent medical devices. no option to top up your data or move to a higher data plan.
Cancellation: If you cancel your plan or change tech type in the first 24 months your modem must be returned via our eParcel service (we will provide details in an email to you once you cancel) in good working order within 21 days of cancellation or you will be charged a $200 non-return fee.
