Sustainability - Telstra
Doing better for the future
A tech-based approach to sustainability
We believe every company has a responsibility to operate sustainably. At Telstra, our vision of sustainability is organised into two areas, each powered by the heart of our business—technology.
REDUCING CARBON EMISSIONS
We're 28% there on scope 3
In 2021, we set a target to halve our scope 3 emissions by 2030. These emissions come from our suppliers, partners and customers and make up two-thirds of our total footprint. We've also reduced our own emissions (scope 1 and 2) by 30%.
INVESTING IN RENEWABLE ENERGY
Supported $1B in renewable energy projects
By investing in new solar and wind farms across Australia, we've enabled renewable energy that's equal to 30% of the energy we need to power our business.
RECOVERING OLD TECH
632,919 mobiles and modems and other devices
That's a lot of potential e-waste. Discover the best way to reuse or recycle your devices through our different programs and bonus incentives.
BUILDING DIGITAL SKILLS
Bringing the digital world to more than 200,000 Australians
Learnable skills like using the internet, sending emails and making video calls help people feel better connected.
