If you’re an Australian business with a compatible internet enabled tablet or mobile handset, Squirrel Street can help you to create accurate and secure digital expense management records, that are ATO compliant and reduce time spent on office based administration.

Take a photo of your receipts as you incur a expense and Squirrel Street will digitally read the contents, add it to your expense report and categorise your purchases.

How can Squirrel Street benefit my business?

Upload scans or photos of your receipts and invoices or send hard copies

Simply scan your financial documents, business records, receipts and invoices. Squirrel Street extracts the data they contain via their Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process. The data is human verified and usable for future business management. You or your accountant have online access to manage and use these documents as well as export them to all major accounting software.

Files expenses using your personalised category groupings

As each document or receipt is processed, the Squirrel Street smart processing feature is constantly learning and applying the category groupings that your business prefers to use, whilst constantly keeping your hard copy information searchable and easy to recall.

Human data verification

When Squirrel Street receives your documents, they are extracted using an automated Optical Character Recognition (OCR) process and then validated by a person based in Sydney to ensure the extraction is as close to 100% accurate as possible.

Be prepared for your BAS and annual tax return

With the need to be continuously prepared for BAS and Annual tax returns or the possibility of an audit, it’s critical your receipts and invoices are all captured and accounted for. Squirrel Street is registered with the ATO and is fully compliant with TR Tax Ruling 2005/9 “Electronic record keeping”. This means you can be confident that your Squirrel Street records will be acceptable to a tax auditor if ever they come knocking.

Data stored in Australian Data Centres

Squirrel Street is built for Australian small business owners and operators. They understand that accurate, secure financial records are essential to your peace of mind. We use Australian data centres and provide bank-level security and encryption. All documents submitted to Squirrel Street are verified by operators located in Australia, who are all subject to police security checks.

Export into your accounting software

Squirrel Street integrates with most major accounting software packages allowing you to export your data straight into Xero. MYOB, QuickBooks or Sage One. You can also choose to integrate Squirrel Street with Dropbox or download a CSV file using Excel.
