Backups, snapshots and load balancing

Manually create snapshots of your system configuration and have the flexibility to restore your virtual server in 24 hours.

Enable nightly backups for your virtual servers and restore individual files or the entire system data at any time. Depending on your requirements, we can keep backups for up to seven years.

Want to optimise your virtual server and network performance? Request load balancers for your private and public networks and control traffic between multiple virtual servers.

CPUs

A CPU-hour represents a single CPU allocated to a powered-on virtual server for 1 hour. For virtual servers with multiple CPUs each CPU accrues 1 CPU-hour, per hour.

For example:
2 CPUs x 2 hours = 4 CPU-hours

RAM

1GB of RAM allocated to a powered-on virtual server for 1 hour accrues 1 GB-hour.

For example:
4GB RAM x 2 hours = 8 GB-hours

Storage

1GB of storage allocated to a virtual server for 1 hour accrues 1 GB-hour. The storage usage includes all virtual disks allocated to the virtual server.

For example:
100GB x 2 hours = 200 GB-hours

Internet usage Internet usage is charged based on the amount of internet traffic transferred in and out of your virtual servers. This includes uploads and downloads.
Operating systems A variety of Windows® and Linux® operating systems to run your virtual servers will be included in your plan.
Public IP addresses

1 public IP address allocated to a virtual server for one hour accrues 1 IP-hour.

For example:
1 IP address x 2 hours = 2 IP-hours

You can check how much you've spent by accessing the Cloud Services management console. See if you are utilising all the resources available in your plan at any time.

If you think you're likely to go over your plan, don't worry, you'll only pay competitive additional usage fees calculated on an hourly basis.

The additional usage fees are standard for all monthly plans and only apply when you've exceeded your monthly usage.

Through the Cloud Services management console, create snapshots of your system at any time - we'll keep them for up to 24 hours. In case something goes wrong, you can restore your virtual server during that time.

You can also enable nightly backups of some or all of your virtual server data. Depending on your requirements, we can keep them for one week, one month, one quarter, one year or up to seven years.

Step 1 - Choose a virtual server plan

Compare our plans and choose a virtual server plan to suit your business needs.

When you're happy with your selection, go to 'checkout'.

Step 2 - Sign in or register

To place the order, you'll be asked to enter your login details or register for a new account.

Existing Telstra customers

Enter an existing Telstra Business or Telstra Enterprise & Government online username, password and/or business ID (if you have one).

New Telstra customers

Register for an account, you can register here. Once registered, you can log in to purchase a plan.

Step 3 - Provide technical contact details

You'll need to provide contact details for someone who can answer any technical questions. If this isn't you, then you need to organise a technical contact to speak on your behalf.

step 4 - Place your order

The order will be charged to your existing Telstra account.

Existing Telstra customers

If you have a business ID attached to your login credentials, you'll need to be a Cloud Authorised Purchaser to buy a virtual server plan.

The Cloud Authorised Purchaser role can be granted through the Telstra Business My Account or Telstra Enterprise & Government 'My Telstra Tools' portals by your company's authorised representative.

New Telstra customers

You'll need to provide company details such as a valid ABN and an Australian address. You'll also need to provide a mobile number. We'll send you an SMS PIN which you'll need to use to validate your new Telstra account.

If we can't get in contact with you using the number(s) you provided when you first set up your account, your access to the Cloud Services management console and your virtual servers will be suspended until we hear from you.

Step 5 - Order confirmation

We'll send you a confirmation email once your account has been activated. We'll then let you know when everything is up and running.

Step 1 - Contact Telstra Global

Email or call the Telstra Global customer service team.

They'll help you choose a cloud solution to suit your individual needs.

Step 2 - Get authorisation to buy and provide a technical contact

We'll provide you with a username and password so that you can make further purchases online.

You'll need to provide contact details for someone who can answer any technical questions. If this isn't you, then you need to organise a technical contact to speak on your behalf.

Step 3 - Place your order

The order will be charged to your existing or new Telstra Global account.

Step 4 - Order confirmation

We'll send you a confirmation email when the order is completed.
