Mobile Phone Options
With Telstra's Casual Plan, there are three mobile phone options:
Mobile Repayment Option (MRO)
With a Mobile Repayment Option (MRO) you choose to pay as much or as little upfront for a mobile phone and then repay the remainder over 12 or 24 months, interest free. The nominated amount will appear on your Telstra bill in addition to your mobile spend.
Your repayments will vary depending on the phone cost and whether you want to pay it off over 12, 18 or 24 months. For example:
Phone cost (including the price of any eligible mobile accessories) $829 MRO amount selected $529 Amount payable upfront for phone $300 Monthly repayment over 12 months $44.09 (plus plan costs) Monthly repayment over 18 months $29.39 (plus plan costs) Monthly repayment over 24 months $22.05 (plus plan costs) Outright Purchase
Just buy your mobile phone outright, and there is no more to pay just your monthly plan access fee. Mobile phone costs can vary, but you'll always find something to suit your needs and budget. View our range of Mobile Phones.
Bring Your Own (BYO)
This is a great option if you already have a Next G® compatible mobile phone and simply want to connect to Telstra. It's important to know that if you BYO an old mobile phone you may not get all the benefits and services of the Telstra Next G network. Handsets that only operate on the 2100MHz network are not compatible with our Next G® network and, on 31 August 2012, these handsets won't be able to access 3G services. To find out more, visit telstra.com/3g2100info. This means there's never been a better reason to upgrade.
