Keep Connected

You're now on the temporary Keep Connected service

To avoid disconnection call us now
As a result of not making an appointment to upgrade your Telstra Velocity service to the Opticomm access network, we have changed your connection to a temporary Keep Connected service.

What is the Keep Connected service?

Keep Connected is our temporary service on the Opticomm access network to help you stay connected, giving you more time to consider your options now that your Velocity service has been disconnected.

You are not being charged for this service.

Important: This is not permanent; you must act to stay connected

Your phone number won’t work

Your phone number has been replaced with a temporary phone number.

Call 127 22 123 to find out what your temporary number is.

You'll need to physically setup your phone by plugging it into your Telstra Smart Modem.

When your Opticomm service has been finalised, your original phone number can be restored.

Fire & medical alarms

Any fire and medical alarms using the Telstra Velocity network will no longer work.

Contact your third-party provider ASAP.

Limited internet access

We’ve placed you on our Telstra Upfront Starter Plan. This gives you:

  • 50GB per month
  • Typical evening download speed of up to 12Mbps and upload speed of up to 0.8Mbps between 7pm and 11pm.

What do I need to do?

To stay with us, call us on 13 22 00 as soon as you can to choose your new plan and finalise your set up.

If you would like to move to another retail service provider, please contact them directly.

If you don’t need the temporary service, call us on 13 22 00 to arrange disconnection.

Set up your home phone

To continue with your voice service and connect your temporary number you will need a compatible Telstra Smart Modem, a home phone cable, and your temporary phone number.

Unplug your home phone cable from the wall socket

Remove the phone cable connected to your home phone from the Velocity Connection box or wall socket.

Connect the phone cable to your Telstra Smart Modem

Plug the phone cable into the green port on the back of the ‘Telstra Smart Modem 2 or Telstra Smart Modem 3’

Test your home phone

Restart your modem by turning it off at the power for 30 seconds and then turning the power back on.

Once the modem has initiated and you see a green light on the front, you can check your connection by listening for a dial tone.
