I only ordered one Wi-Fi Booster but I’ve received two. Why have you sent me two Wi-Fi Boosters?

We've sent you two Wi-Fi Boosters because you have a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 1 or a Telstra Frontier Modem. This means you’ll need to connect one Wi-Fi Booster directly to your modem use the second one to extend the signal. But don’t worry, your additional Wi-Fi Booster is free of charge.

What is the maximum number of Wi-Fi Boosters I can use with my modem?

You can use a maximum of four Wi-Fi Boosters with your Telstra modem. Remember that unless you have a Telstra Smart Modem Gen 2, one of your Wi-Fi Boosters will need to stay connected directly to your modem.

Will the Wi-Fi Boosters work with a non-Telstra modem?

No, the Wi-Fi Boosters are exclusive to Telstra home internet customers and are only compatible with Telstra modems.

Do I have to be a Telstra internet customer to buy the Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster?

Yes, the Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster is only available for Telstra internet customers.

Which internet types does the Wi-Fi Booster work with?

The Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster works with ADSL, cable, nbn and Velocity.

Accessing the Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster control panel

  1. Make sure you're connected to the Wi-Fi Booster’s Wi-Fi connection.
  2. In any web browser, type: http://telstra.wifi
  3. Sign in to the control panel using the admin password: telstra

Changing the brightness of the LED lights on your Telstra Smart Wi-Fi Booster

  1. Make sure you're connected to the Wi-Fi Booster’s Wi-Fi connection.
  2. In any web browser, type: http://telstra.wifi
  3. Sign in to the control panel using the admin password: telstra
  4. Click on Settings in the top menu.
  5. Click on LED in the left hand menu list.
  6. Slide the toggle to desired brightness. Note: for best results, we suggest choosing Dim.
  7. Click Save to save the setting and adjust the brightness on all Wi-Fi Boosters in the network.
  8. Click Logout in the top right hand corner and close the browser window.

Understanding the LED colours on your Wi-Fi Booster

  • Purple: Software updating, syncing or starting up. Please keep device on.
  • Blue: Good signal, working fine.
  • Amber: Connected, but poor signal. Try moving closer to another Wi-Fi Booster.
  • Red: No connection. Check installation or try moving closer to another Wi-Fi Booster.
