In 2024, we blocked on average:
- 11 million scam calls and 15 million scam SMS every month
- tens of millions of malicious websites from loading
- tens of millions of suspicious BigPond emails monthly.

Scam Protect is your built-in scam shield
Telstra Scam Protect is a free feature automatically activated on Telstra mobile services:
- shows warning messages for suspicious calls
- detects fake numbers pretending to be local
- nothing to install and no need to configure settings.
Since launch, Scam Protect has flagged over 100 million scam calls. That's more than 80 suspicous calls every minute.
Device Security Essentials offers free protection for your phone
Device Security Essentials, powered by McAfee, is available to over 9 million Telstra consumer and small business mobile customers:
- free tool in the My Telstra app
- scans for viruses and unsafe apps
- protects your mobile from phishing attempts and other online threats.
