AVC ID stands for ‘access virtual circuit identifier’ and is a 15-character code (AVC followed by 12 numbers). For example: AVC000123456789

Every active broadband connection on the nbn network has its own AVC ID. If a single property has multiple connections (e.g. apartment buildings or a share house), AVC IDs are used to distinguish each connection.

When you change nbn providers, your new provider will ask for the AVC ID of your current connection. The AVC ID can also help troubleshoot issues with your internet service.

Where can I find the AVC ID for my nbn connection?

You can find the AVC ID for your Telstra internet connection on your invoice or bill. If you can’t find the ID, chat now to request it.

If you’re moving to Telstra from another internet provider, check with them to help find your current AVC ID. All nbn providers are required to include the AVC ID on the invoice or bill for that service.
