The earlier you turn on auto recharge, the more bonus data you’ll be awarded. For example, if you turn on auto recharge as soon as you activate, you’ll be eligible to get bonus data on up to 6 auto recharges until 31 May 2026.
Even if you switch on auto recharge later, as long as you have any auto recharges happening before 31 May, you'll be eligible to receive bonus data on up to 6 of those. Just make sure that auto recharge is enabled at least 48 hours before your current recharge expires.

If you decide to turn off auto recharge, you will lose the offer and no longer receive bonus data, even if you turn auto recharge back on.
If your auto recharge payment fails, you’ll need to manually recharge to get your service working again. This means you will miss out on your auto recharge bonus data for that recharge (because it will be manual). However, the bonus data offer will resume when your next auto recharge goes through.
If you’re just changing to a different amount within the selection of 28 Day Plans ($39, $49, $59 or $69), you’ll still be eligible to receive auto recharge bonus data – the amount will be in accordance with the recharge amount you have selected. However, if you change to an ineligible recharge amount (for instance, our $13 Plan or $180 Plan), you will no longer be eligible.
If you decide you would like to switch back to an eligible 28 Day Plan, your remaining auto recharge bonus data will kick back in (until 31 May 2026).
If you change to an ineligible plan like a Casual Plan or Community Plan, you will no longer be able to claim the auto recharge bonus data offer, even if you decide to switch back afterwards.
To be eligible for our auto recharge bonus data offer, you’ll need to be on a 28 Day Plan.
Only Telstra Pre-Paid services activated between 8 July and 11:59pm on 10 November 2025 are eligible for the offer.
Telstra Pre-Paid services without auto recharge set up on an eligible 28 Day SIM denomination are also ineligible for the offer.
Telstra Pre-Paid 28 Day Legacy Plans, Telstra Pre-Paid Bulk Buy Plans, Telstra Pre-Paid Casual Plans, Telstra Pre-Paid MBB Plans, Boost and JB Pre-Paid Plans and Telstra Community Plans are excluded from the offer.
Yes, your bonus data will roll over and be managed as per existing rollover rules (up to 200GB).
If you have a $2 SIM Kit or Quick Start SIM, you can recharge it with a 28 Day Plan amount, which will make you eligible for the auto recharge bonus offer. Just make sure to select one of the 28 Day Plan amounts when recharging ($39, $49, $59 or $69), activate by 10 November 2025, and have auto recharge turned on.
