Manage your usage

Chatting to friends and family, watching the latest movies, playing games...it’s easy to lose track of how much you’ve used on your plan. That's why we've put together some helpful ways for you to manage your spend and stay in control.

Know your plan and what it includes

Knowledge is power, so check out the Critical Information Summary for your plan. It covers things like how much you need to pay each month, what’s included as part of your plan and what your excess usage charges are if you exceed your allowances.

Ways you can manage your spend

Track it online

You can view your current call, SMS, MMS and estimated mobile data usage online. Mobile data usage allows you to view an estimate of your current data usage included with your Post-Paid mobile plan or Data Pack.

On your mobile

Use the Telstra 24x7® App or My Plan Manager (under the 'My' tab on your handsets browser m.bigpond.com/my – this shows data only).
Normal Data charges apply when downloading the Telstra 24x7® App

On your desktop

Use My Account or Facebook 24x7 App

Please be aware that all recent usage may take 48 hours to update.

Calls, SMS and MMS

To help you manage your usage, all customers on eligible plans will be sent an SMS when you go over 50 percent, 85 percent and 100 percent of your plan allowance for calls, SMS and MMS.

Mobile data

We’ll send you an SMS when you’ve used 50 percent, 85 percent and 100 percent of your mobile data allowance. If you like, you can change your notification preference to email.

Mobile broadband and tablet plans

We’ll send you an email to your nominated email address when you have passed 50 percent, 85 percent and 100 percent of your data allowance. Remember you can setup or change your email address used to receive your data alerts at any time.

Things you need to know

The alerts aren’t in real time and your recent usage may be delayed by up to 48 hours.

Alerts don’t include calls or SMS to International numbers, usage outside Australia, or any discounts you may receive in addition to your plan allowance.
