Once you’ve ordered your $0 nbn tech upgrade, it usually takes from 2 to 4 weeks to get connected. It’s important to book your appointment as soon as possible once you’ve been notified that you need to upgrade.
Yes. The technician will need to install an nbn utility box outside your home, and an nbn connection box inside your home. You won’t be charged for the equipment or for standard installations.
No. We’ll check your existing modem when you place your order and if it isn’t compatible, we will supply you with a new Telstra Smart Modem at no extra cost.
You have 12 months from when you were notified that your service was ready to upgrade to FTTP technology. Check the letter or email that we sent you for the changeover date in your area.

If you rely on a medical alarm, monitored fire alarm, lift phone or other emergency devices, you should contact your manufacturer to confirm that they will work on fast fibre (FTTP) technology.
You may still experience a disruption to your phone and internet during the changeover to FTTP technology that could temporarily affect these emergency devices. Keep another form of communication handy, like a charged mobile phone.
You can discuss your emergency device requirements and alternative solutions that may be available when you place your order.
You need to move from your existing technology to FTTP technology in order to stay connected to the nbn.
If you don’t arrange the $0 nbn tech upgrade, nbn co will disconnect your existing service and you won’t have access to the internet.
