If you download your games 5G Home Internet can be a great option. But if you’re an online gamer and serious about possible latency, where every millisecond matters, this may not be the plan for you.
Note: our 5G Home Internet plan includes 1000GB super-fast data per month. Most households use less than half that in a month.
You can also check your usage with the My Telstra app.
We'll give you a heads-up at 50%, 85%, and 100% of your super-fast data. No worries if you go over—no extra charges! Your download speed will ease to 25Mbps, and uploads to 5Mbps.
Pro tip:
At 25Mbps, it's suitable for households with 1-3 people. So, you can work, study, and browse hassle-free, and you’ll also be able to enjoy streaming videos in Standard Definition (480p).
It's important to note that your plan does not include a phone line. You won't be able to make or receive calls or support devices like lift, medical, or security alarms relying on a phone line.
The performance of our 5G Home Internet depends on the available capacity in your area and the number of users. If 5G Home Internet reaches max capacity, we might not be able to offer it to you at this time.
We have other options though. If you want fast, reliable internet, now go to our nbn plans and find the best option for you.
While 5G may be up and running in your area for mobile use, getting 5G Home Internet depends on having enough capacity to deliver those speeds tailored to your plan. We're all about making sure you get the best experience possible.
It's not ideal to run both 5G Home Internet and your current home internet simultaneously. To set up your new Telstra 5G Internet Modem 2 smoothly, we suggest giving your old modem some downtime – unplug it while you get things sorted.
Once you've got the 5G Home Internet going strong, think about cancelling your old service. No need to juggle two bills! Give 5G Home Internet a spin with your first month at just $1, so you can decide if it's the perfect match for you. After that, it's $85/month. And, if life takes you elsewhere within 24 months, no worries – just return the modem to dodge any non-return fees.
No, the Telstra 5G Internet Modem 2 is geo-locked to your home's location, limiting the use of the 5G Home Internet service to that specific address. If you're relocating, you'll need to cancel the existing 5G Home Internet service and place a new order for the service at your new address.
Installing 5G Home Internet is usually straightforward and user-friendly. We’ll send you everything you need to get online in moments. Here’s a helpful video to guide you through the process.
Service availability: Service not available to all areas or all premises. Initial checks may show you are eligible for this service however actual availability will be confirmed after order.
Voice services: This plan does not include a fixed voice service and you will not be able to use it to make or receive calls or support a lift, security or medical alarm.
Speed: Speeds experienced may be slower over Wi-Fi and can also be impacted by other factors such as the distance and line of sight between the serving 5G mobile tower and the modem, the number of users online, where your modem is located and how far you are from it, weather, congestions and your in-home set up.
Data allowance: Once you exceed your included data allowance, your download speed will be capped at 25Mbps, and slowed further in busy periods until your next billing month. There is no option to top up your data or move to a higher data plan.
Cancellation: If you cancel your plan in the first 24 months your modem must be returned via our eParcel service (we will provide details in an email to you once you cancel) in good working order within 21 days of cancellation or you may be charged a $400 non-return fee.
