Unofficially, he’s the guy who keeps failing to frisk your personal info.

Officially, he’s the Supreme Emperor of Zalun and the Commander of the Scam Fleets. He, along with his crew, travel the known universe to swindle people's data.

Unfortunately for him, we block over 24 million scam calls a month. He’s more than met his match.

He’s also referred to as He Who Never Authenticates, the Scourge of Select-Three-Buses and the Purveyor of PINs.

Since Telstra has Australia’s largest mobile network, the Zaluanians thought they could sneak around and scam our customers. But, between our 24/7 network monitoring and cyber security resources, they’ve more than met their match.

Off the record, though, it’s because Zalun doesn’t have good beaches and they’re jealous.

They think it sounds fancier that way – kinda like people from Byron Bay calling it "Byyyyyyron".

(Really, though, they just don’t know who they’re messing with.)

Basically, it’s when the Zalunians try to scam everyone, everywhere, with their most dastardly tricks. That’s why we monitor our network 24/7 and provide tools and resources to help you look after your data.

From the Zalunian perspective, scampocalypes are described by the Form of Breaches in the Upgraded Test Environment, Breach 4:02, "a scampocalypse is the final test of all security protocols by the Supreme Emperor’s forces" – ending, supposedly, in vindication of all those who uphold the ways of the Scammer.

So far, a scampocalypse hasn’t occurred on any of the known planets or peoples targeted by Zalunian forces. They keep on keeping on, though.

A healthy dose of suspicion and a little cyber know-how (our tools and resources can help you there). The Device Security Essentials in the MyTelstra app are a great start – they let you set up and use Wi-Fi scans, device checks and alerts about risky websites as you browse.

No - we’ve blocked every scam attempt by the Zalunians thus far. 

The Supreme Emperor is on the record as saying "failing is learning" and considers that a success of sorts (but of course he'd say that).
