What's in the box of the new iPhone 16 range?

L-R: iPhone 16 Pro in Desert Titanium and USB-C Charge Cable.

In the iPhone 16 box, you'll find your brand new iPhone 16 and a USB-C Charge Cable which supports fast charging.

As a part of Apple's efforts to reach their environmental goals, please note that iPhone models such as iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16 no longer include a power adaptor in the box.

If you're in need of a new power adaptor, check out our range in our accessories section. Make sure it has a USB-C port!

Get set-up quick with Quick Start

If you have another iPhone with iOS 11 or later, you can use Quick Start to wirelessly transfer your data over to your new iPhone 16.

Quick Start uses both your new and old devices, so it’s best to pick a time when you won’t need to use your current device for several minutes.

  1. Make sure that your current device is connected to Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is on.
  2. Turn on your new iPhone 16 and place it near your current device.
  3. Follow the onscreen instructions to get started.
  4. Keep both your devices near each other and ensure they are plugged into a power source until the data migration process has finished.

It's as easy as that.

How to switch from Android to your new iPhone here is a handy guide if you're switching from an Android to Apple.

Activate an eSIM on your iPhone

An eSIM (short for embedded SIM) is a digital SIM that’s built into your device, that allows you to store your network service digitally. With an eSIM, there's no need to visit a store or wait for a delivery to get connected to the Telstra network.

Instead, expect to be connected within minutes - all from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you choose!). All you'll need is a Wi-Fi connection and the My Telstra app

The good news is that all Telstra plans allow you to opt for an eSIM instead of a physical SIM. This means less plastic, less packaging and one less transportation of a physical SIM card. It's a great win for our planet.

Please note: eSIM is not yet available for customers who wish to keep their number when switching from another provider.

Physical SIM activation

If you still prefer the old school physical SIM card, that's perfectly fine too. If you have an existing SIM card with an existing plan, just slot it in the SIM card tray and you're good to go.

And if you're thinking about transferring your current physical SIM to an eSIM, that's also possible.

Telstra Trade-In program

When you trade in your old smartphone, watch or tablet, if it's eligible, you could receive credit to put towards a new iPhone. You'll also be helping keep e-waste out of landfill, for a more sustainable future.
