The nbn™ network explained
The nbn network is a new telecommunications network being rolled out across Australia. This exciting new network will bring Australian phone and internet services into the future. Use our nbn rollout map to see where the nbn network is currently available and where it's coming to next.
Things you need to know
These Services and offers are not available to all areas or customers.
BizEssentials: Service not available in all areas. Excess data charges are $1/GB (charged per MB or part) and are capped at $300/mth. Unused allowances expire monthly. Included calls exclude some usage, such as calls to premium numbers (e.g. 19xx, 1300 and 13 numbers), and international calls.
Broadband: Unused data allowance expires monthly. A $59 activation fee will apply for new Telstra fixed broadband customers.
TAM Credit: TAM credit is for use towards one App subscription. You will no longer receive your credit if you change your subscription or cancel your plan or subscription Unused credit expires monthly.
Peace Of Mind Commitment: No fixed broadband excess data charges for your first two bills for new DOT (Digital Office Technology)™ and Telstra BizEssentials® bundles contracts. Service not available in all areas.
Free on account calls: Free on account calls do not apply to video calls, international calls or international roaming calls. You can have a maximum of 500 fixed or mobile services on the same account as your Telstra BizEssentials Plan. You can purchase multiple Telstra BizEssentials Plans, however free on account calls do not apply between services on different Telstra BizEssentials Plans.
Fax: Although your service may support fax, EFTPOS, medical diallers and other non-standard dialler services and equipment, we cannot guarantee that these services and/or equipment will work or function faultlessly over your service. Please check with your equipment manufacturer/provider about compatibility with a Telstra voice service on the nbn™ network before you move across.
Mobile Data: 1.46c/MB. Data for use in Australia. Extra Data $10/GB automatically added in 1GB blocks to use that month. Monthly Data Allowance shared with eligible services on the same account. Data Share SIM cannot be used in a mobile phone. Some use excluded (e.g. content charges and use overseas). Unused allowances expire monthly. If you cancel early the remaining device payments will be higher as you’ll no longer receive a credit to offset your device cost.
Broadband backup: Feature only works in Telstra mobile coverage areas.
Microsoft® Office 365 Business: $15 Telstra Apps Marketplace credit for monthly subscription to one business application like Microsoft® Office 365 Business. Unused credit expires monthly. If app subscription or plan is cancelled, you no longer receive the credit.
Installation: Self install ($59 activation fee applies) or buy standard professional install ($240).
Speeds: Actual speeds on the nbn network vary due to a number of factors including hardware and software configuration, source and type of content downloaded, the number of users and performance of interconnecting infrastructure not operated by us.
nbn network: Telstra services on the nbn network are not available to all areas or customers. In areas serviced by the nbn network, Telstra may be required to connect services onto the nbn network. Once you are connected to nbn fibre, you won’t able to move to our copper network.
nbn network New Development Charge: If you’re in a new development and not already connected to the nbn network, nbn co may charge $300 to connect your premises to the nbn network. If applicable, we will bill that charge to you.
