MessageBank Service

Use this form to add or remove your MessageBank service.

  • Navigate to the Services tab and select your service
  • Tap the three dots on the top corner of your screen, then select Manage your MessageBank
  • Toggle on or off your MessageBank. To manage your greeting or access your messages, dial 101 from your handset.

This form is not available for Customers on Upfront Plans - Manage your MessageBank using My Telstra app.


Customers connected to the nbn or Digital Office Technology (DOT)

  • If you're connected to the nbn, dial *99# to turn on MessageBank or #99# to turn off MessageBank. There's no monthly cost. Dial 101 from your handset to access messages.
  • If you're on Digital Office Technology (DOT), dial 101 from your phone and follow the prompts.

By default, your phone rings for 15 seconds before diverting a call to Messagebank. You can change using increments of 5 seconds (up to 30 seconds).

To extend the ring time

  1. **61*101**(number of seconds: 15, 20, 25 or 30)#
  2. Then press the call/send button

Once submitted, Messagebank will be removed from your service within 24 hours and we will send confirmation.

 

The Message to Text notification service will ensure you always receive a text message to notify you when you have missed a call.

All messaging products will be removed from your Mobile Phone service.

With MessageBank, you can receive calls when your phone is unattended, busy, out of range or has a flat battery. You'll receive MessageBank Standard when you activate your Telstra mobile service.

Things you need to know
Standard carrier rates apply to retrieve messages from a phone other than the nominated service. The message retrieval rate for Telstra Pre-Paid services depends on the pre-paid offer.

MessageBank Plus offers Apple iPhone customers an easier way to check their voice messages within Australia - without the hassle of dialling 101. With a simple user-friendly interface, you can review your voice messages at your convenience and in any order you choose.

Pricing: $5 per month
There is no charge to you to receive the SMS if the caller leaves a message. The caller will be charged standard call rates. Standard SMS or call rates apply if you reply to the SMS or call back.

With Message2txt, callers who can't get through to you can leave a 10-second message that is converted to text and sent to you as an SMS.

There is no charge to you to receive the SMS if the caller leaves a message. The caller will be charged standard call rates. Standard SMS or call rates apply if you reply to the SMS or call back.

Things you need to know
The Message2txt service will do its best to convert the caller's message accurately into a text message, but the conversion may not bet otally accurate if the caller's voice or words are unclear. We may use a third party to assist in the translation of a voice message. The text message should take about 3.5 minutes to arrive after the caller leaves the voice message, but in some instances may take up to 20 minutes. The caller's voice message is not stored and is unable to be retrieved.

If you already know your Message bank PIN, you can change your PIN by calling 101. If you do not know your Messagebank PIN we can reset your it to the default settings.

To change your Messagebank PIN:

  1. Dial 101 to call MessageBank
  2. Press 3 for Mailbox set-up
  3. Press 3 for PIN
  4. Enter your new 6 digit PIN and press #
  5. Hang up

Once submitted, we will reset your message bank PIN within 24 hours. The default PIN will be 41967.

We will send you confirmation once your PIN has been reset. You can then change your PIN by calling 101 from your phone.
