We’ve heard you – sometimes you just need simple, great value internet without all the extras. You might already have a modem or don’t need a landline. That’s where Internet Only comes in – offering more choice so you can get exactly what you need from your home or business internet, at a great price.

What’s new: simple, flexible internet plans

Unlike our premium Upfront Internet plans, Internet Only strips things back to the essentials. You get great internet, without bundled extras like a modem for use, home phone voice line, or smart features such as 4G/5G backup1 and SmartFix. ;Instead, you can bring your own modemor add a Smart Modem 4 if you wish (without the smart features) - meaning more flexibility to only pay for what you need.

Of course, being with Telstra means you’re still protected by our leading network security, even if you bring your own modem. Internet Only customers also still get access to the Telstra Plus loyalty program and a range of support options – in store, online or on the phone - although our ability to support troubleshooting at home is more limited with Internet Only.

Now with a broad range of home and business internet options – from Internet Only to Upfront Internet bundles, 5G Fixed Wireless and Satellite internet – customers can choose a connection, speed and plan that works for their needs.

Special launch offer and how to sign up

To celebrate the launch of our new plans, and just in time for Black Friday, we have a launch offer for new Internet Only customers.

Internet Only plans will start at $42 per month for the first three months on the Basic Internet Only plan (before moving to $85 per month). For those seeking really fast speeds, our Ultrafast Internet Only plan launches at $64 per month for the first three months (before moving to $129 per month)2. The offer ends 1 December 2025, and plan prices may change – check them all out here.

Signing up is easy - whether you’re in the market for the first time or switching from another provider, everything can be done online, on the phone or at your local Telstra store or Telstra Business Technology Centre. You’ll just need to choose your plan, decide if you want to BYO modem or add a Telstra Smart Modem 4, and you’re good to go.

Internet Only or Upfront Internet – what’s the difference?

Our Upfront Internet plans include all the features to give you the best internet experience. For a little bit extra, you get ;the latest Telstra Smart Modem with Wi-Fi 7 and smart features like mobile back up (keeping you online if your fixed connection drops out)3 SmartFix, which uses AI to proactively monitor and take action to resolve internet issues in the background, and a landline.

Internet Only plans are just that – simple internet, without the features. It’s important to note that ;they do not include a home phone line, which we know some people rely on. That meansfeatures like Priority Assist are not available on these plans. If you rely on landline services for medical or security needs, our Upfront Internet plans will be better suited to you. It’s always best to review your needs and chat to one of our friendly staff to understand what’s right for your situation.

Telstra’s new Internet Only plans are about giving people more choice and more control over what they pay for. Whether you’re a savvy saver, a small business owner, or just someone who wants fast, simple internet - we’re here to help keep you connected your way.
