Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL: the most powerful Pixel yet

What's in the box

Your new Google Pixel 9 Pro or Google Pixel 9 Pro XL comes with a type-C to type-C cable and a SIM tool. Pixel 9 Pro XL in Porcelain shown here. Both models are available in Rose Quartz, Hazel, Porcelain and Obsidian in either 128GB, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB.

Two sizes. Same Pro

Shown here: Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL.

The next major players in the Pixel 9 lineup are the Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel Pro XL. Perfect for someone who wants that extra edge.

The Pixel 9 Pro has a 6.3-inch Super Actua display that stays bright and vivid, even in sunlight. If you prefer a bigger device, opt for the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which has a larger 6.8-inch Super Actua display. Both devices have the same smooth 120Hz refresh rate for gaming and scrolling.

The Pixel 9 Pro and the Pixel 9 Pro XL house a triple rear camera system, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 48MP telephoto lens and a 48MP ultrawide lens. Put together, it is the perfect combination for Pro-level photos and videos. Think super-close closeups, sharp selfies and rich colours, even in low light. Score.

Keep running out of storage? The Pixel 9 Pro range comes in 512GB or 1TB storage sizes in addition to 128GB and 256GB, to suit all your storage needs.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold: your new dream screens

What's in the box

Your new Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold comes with a type-C to type-C cable and a SIM tool. Pixel 9 Pro Fold in Porcelain shown here - also available in Obsidian in either 256GB or 512GB.

There's no need for a dream team when you have the dream screens. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold has the largest screen real estate with screens on both sides. Yes, you heard it right. Both sides.

It has a 6.3-inch Actua outer display, and when unfolded, an immersive 8-inch Super Actua Flex inner display is revealed. This means you get to do so much more with a bigger screen. Multitasking across apps, and immersing yourself with big-screen entertainment from anywhere. No problem.

Thanks to its advanced triple rear camera system, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold snaps brilliant photos and videos. It has a 48MP main wide lens, a 10.8MP telephoto lens, and a 10.5MP ultrawide lens.

The Pixel 9 Pro Fold also makes it easy to capture everyone looking their best. While you set up the photo, let them preview it on the outer screen and pose to their heart's content.

With the ability to fold, set your Pixel 9 Pro Fold up in tabletop mode to create the perfect setup for hands-free viewing, or act as a stand for photos and timelapses. No tripod required!

Google AI: the possibilities are endless

And of course, there's one thing we haven't mentioned yet. The Pixel 9 range gets the very best of Google AI first.

Make your photos better than you could ever imagine with the help of AI photo editing. Magic Editor in Google Photos allows you to erase photobombers and crowds, or reimagine the scenery by turning the grass into a beach... or even making the sky pink!

Blurry picture? No worries. Photo Unblur in Google Photos sharpens your fuzzy pics - new or old - in just a few taps.

Also, get to know Gemini, your built-in AI assistant, who's there to help you every step of the way. Gemini makes it easy to do all those things that you do every day - and some things that you've never done before.

Too many emails? Ask Gemini to summarise your Google Docs and unread messages in Gmail in the blink of an eye.

Don't know what to cook for dinner? Snap a photo of the ingredients in your fridge, and then ask Gemini for a recipe tailored to you. Yum.

Setting up your new Pixel phone

You can move what's on your current phone onto your new Pixel phone, or set up your Pixel phone as a new device.

Transfer data from your current phone

Moving data to your new Pixel couldn't be easier: just follow the on-screen steps the first time you turn it on. That's it.

We've included two guides that go into more detail on data transfer, depending on the model of your current phone.

Skip transferring data

Perhaps your Pixel phone is your first phone or maybe you just want a fresh start.

If so, turn it on and tap Start > Set up as new.

You'll skip past transferring data and then you'll be ready to start personalising your new phone.

Activating a Telstra SIM or eSIM on your new Pixel

Do you already have a SIM card or eSIM?

If you've been using a SIM card in your old phone, then you’re already activated. Just insert it into your new Pixel phone and you’re good to go.

If you’re using an eSIM, just scan your eSIM QR code with your new phone and you’re done.

Have you ordered a new SIM card or eSIM?

If you ordered a new SIM card with a new number on an upfront mobile plan, it will be automatically activated once you accept the delivery.

In all other cases, such as when you're moving from another provider while keeping your number - or if you’ve ordered a Pre-Paid SIM card, you’ll need to activate your SIM.
