Because Telstra has more than a century’s experience in the industry, our Networks and InfraCo team knows a thing or two about keeping Australia connected. They have the exciting responsibility of looking after the planning, design, access, maintenance and construction of our world-class networks, infrastructure and products supporting fixed, fibre, wireless and media technologies.

Meanwhile our IoT (Internet of Things) Domain Engineering teams design, develop and operate Telstra’s suite of IoT Platforms and Products, which are used by Australia’s biggest companies.

We build and deploy an exciting portfolio of scalable, secure, robust, cloud-native software by leveraging the latest technologies. We also have full end-to-end ownership and accountability for our IoT solutions, from proof of concept through to productionised launch, ongoing operation and continual development.

You’ll assist in specialist analysis, design, development and deployment in specific network technology domains. In our infrastructure business you will leverage your knowledge and skills working across Australia’s largest and most diverse set of infrastructure assets including pits, ducts, towers, poles and exchanges.

You’ll also get to use next generation technologies to help our customers better connect, explore and interact with each other. Our previous grads have worked on:

• Building several VNFs for virtualised network nodes.
• Designing and implementing a solution to perform telemetry to extract data from our routers.
• The Federal Government’s Mobile Black Spot Program.
• Developing programs to reduce the carbon emissions from our Exchange and Data centre facilities.
• Development and launch of new fibre products.
• Assist in the development of strategic geographic data sets used in the planning process.
• Automation of fibre capacity management processes to achieve operational efficiencies.
• Identify opportunities for minimum viable power and cooling engineering solutions that continue to provide operational value to both our traditional telco network and future virtual and cloud networks.

If you join our Domain Engineering teams, you could be working on: 

• Smart connected buildings, spaces, and cities.
• Industrial IoT including water and energy utilities.
• Asset, freight and supply chain location and condition monitoring.
• Connectivity (NB-IoT, CAT-M1 and commoditised 4G/5G).

Our software engineers analyse, design, build, test, implement and help to maintain multiple system applications for our customers. They get to work on interesting, iconic and diverse projects, such as Smart Home products, IoT (Internet of Things), automation, AI (Artificial Intelligence), and much more.

You could be assisting our teams with this cutting-edge work or even helping to build new products and services that’ll create amazing digital experiences for our customers. Our previous grads have worked on:

• Generating heatmaps from tens of millions of lat /long data points.
• Using c#, Dask, Datashaer and Google Maps API to create front and back-end applications.
• Internet of Things (IoT) M2M Connectivity.

You’ll provide data expertise and support best practice solutions so that we’re making the best decisions for our business. Our previous grads have worked on:

• Using machine learning to assist in detecting air conditioning faults in our exchange buildings.
• Artificial Intelligence, Drone technology and Virtual Reality. 

Our tech consulting and solutions teams work closely with our customers to provide them with the right technological solution(s) for their needs. 

You’ll support our teams by providing technical service, solutions, implementation and support to the platforms, devices, applications and computerised systems supplied and operated by us. 

We’re focused on delivering a seamless and amazing experience for all our customers. To help us do this, our product and service design teams play an important role in bringing our products to life.

You’ll support the development of a superior user experience, which is anchored by a Human Centred Design approach.

You’ll help teams across our business with research and user testing, developing segment personas, creating target state user journey maps, and developing prototypes to test and iterate with our customers. 

Aspects of this pathway may include being involvement in pricing, branding, product management and strategy design. Our previous grads have worked on: 

• Designing Telstra’s new illustrative and story-telling visual identity.
• Development and launch of new fibre products.
• Designing and delivery of content for websites, customer events and customer collateral.
• Building data visualisations and storyboards to showcase customer insights and inform business decisions.

Due to the size of our business, our finance and accounting teams are an integral part of our decision-making process. They provide our teams with business advice, help to translate complex data and communicate financial implications. 

Our strategic direction is set, and this means our long-term planning and commercial management will be integral to our success as an organisation.

Our internal strategy team sits at the centre of shaping the company’s future. Our role is to identify and solve Telstra’s most complex problems, working with all parts of the business in a collaborative and constructive environment.

Telstra will expose you to cutting edge and innovative work in areas such as Internet of Things (IoT) 5G, Cyber Security, Artificial Intelligence, and other emerging technologies.   

As a graduate, you’ll provide high level financial support to the many areas of our business, help with decision making, work with data, develop insights and manage stakeholder relationships.

As a Strategy graduate, you’ll work with your strategy team, and executives on every part of the strategy process, from identifying opportunities to working side-by-side with the business to deliver and implement recommendations. You’ll work on fact gathering and detailed analysis, recommendations, communications and much more.

Our previous grads have worked on:

• Partnering with our various functions to implement accounting practices and helping our teams to define scope and targets for our many projects.
• Investigate, and suggest ideas, to lower costs for our business.
