First Nations employees have shared that having time to meet cultural obligations is essential to their wellbeing. That’s why Telstra offers Cultural Leave that employees can access throughout the year for days of significance such as Coming of the Light, NAIDOC Week, ceremonies and more.

CareerTrackers
We’ve partnered with CareerTrackers, a national not-for-profit organisation, to create paid, multi-year internship opportunities for First Nations university students in Australia.
We’ve committed to host 20 interns each year to help improve the participation of First Nations Australians in the workforce and develop future talent.
First Nations Employee Representative Group
Our First Nations Employee Representative Group is led by a group of representatives and supported by a Senior Leadership Sponsor.
Our purpose is to:
- Represent fellow First Nations Telstra employees and ensure they have a voice
- Foster understanding
- Strengthen connection with First Nation Australian communities
- Create opportunities at Telstra for First Nations Peoples
First Nations Interview Guarantee
Did you know we have an interview guarantee process in place for shortlisted First Nations candidates? This means any external candidates who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander who is shortlisted for a role in Australia will be automatically offered an interview.
