No, when you sign up for a Tyro payment solution, you can choose to settle EFTPOS payments into any Australian bank account.
Yes, you can. With Tyro EFTPOS, your business can benefit from:
- no lock-in contract
- no set-up fees
- no cancellation fees, and
- no break or exit fees
All you pay is merchant services fees and EFTPOS machine rental (where applicable). This flexibility allows you to test Tyro’s solution to make sure it works for your business.
Tyro accepts all major debit and credit card types, including:
- Visa
- Mastercard®
- eftpos
- American Express, and
- JCB
Tyro EFTPOS machines also accept digital wallets like Apple Pay, Google Pay™, and Samsung Pay if an accepted card type is loaded onto the wallet.
You can also process Buy Now Pay Later (BNPL) transactions with Tyro, provided the BNPL provider issues a Visa or Mastercard® card with their service.

The following offer is currently available to Telstra referred customers who acquire an eligible Tyro EFTPOS solution on a simple pricing structure from Tyro Payments Limited (ABN 49 103 575 042) (Tyro)
- 1.4% (incl. GST) transaction fee
- $15,000 worth of fee-free transactions
The Offer only applies once per new Tyro customer, but does not apply to eCommerce transactions. The Offer and terminal rental (if relevant) are subject to your reasonable use, and your use will be deemed unreasonable by Tyro in its absolute discretion if it is (a) contrary to the way that the Offer was intended to be used or (b) otherwise unacceptable.
The Fee is subject to change in accordance with the Tyro Terms & Conditions and excludes Diners Club card transactions and MOTO fees. Additional fees and charges apply as set out in the Tyro Application Form and Terms & Conditions.
Tyro and Telstra reserve the right to withdraw or extend this Offer at any time, at their discretion. If the Offer is withdrawn, the Offer will be honoured in respect of all fully completed applications received by Tyro from Telstra customers before the Offer is withdrawn.

Tyro Go EFTPOS reader
Tyro Go EFTPOS reader requires a Bluetooth-enabled mobile device or tablet, the Tyro Go App to be installed, and mobile network coverage. Check Google Play & App Store for the latest OS compatibility requirements.
Tap to Pay on iPhone and Tyro BYO App
Tap to Pay on iPhone requires iPhone XS or later running iOS 16.4 or later via the Tyro BYO App. Some contactless cards may not be accepted by the Tyro BYO App. The Contactless Symbol is a trademark owned by and used with permission of EMVCo, LLC. For more details, see https://developer.apple.com/tap-to-pay/. The Tyro BYO App requires mobile connectivity for use.
Tyro Pro
Tyro Pro requires a Wi-Fi connection or mobile network coverage for use. A monthly rental fee applies (currently $29 per month) and is subject to change.
