It’s always good to get a little extra. From Friday 15 September to 12 October, we’ll be giving eligible customers  an extra $350 trade-in credit when you take up a new device from the iPhone 15 range.

New iPhone season is here and we’re making it worth your while to trade up to a new device with our friends from Kingfisher who help us with mobile trade-in.

If you trade in an eligible phone and take up a new device from the iPhone 15 range, we’ll give an additional bonus credit of $350.

That means you can get up to $1250 for trading in a device like the iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB, for example.

You can find out everything you need to know about the new iPhone 15 range on Telstra Exchange.

What is Telstra device trade-in?

Rather than leave your old phone to gather dust in a drawer or on a shelf, we work with Kingfisher to trade in your old and out-of-contract devices and make purchasing a new phone even cheaper.

You can begin the trade-in process via the Kingfisher Trade-in app and return your phone directly to any Aus Post outlet, so you don't have to visit a store. Or if you're nearby, come visit us to get it done in store.

Trade-in values differ based on the device, storage variant and condition .

Right now you can trade in devices from a range of manufacturers from Apple, Samsung, Google, Motorola, Oppo and Huawei.

Find out everything you need to know about trade-in on our Telstra.com page.

How can you trade-in your device with Telstra?

Yep! And it’s super easy, too.

Here’s how you do it:

1.      Download Kingfisher Trade-In

Open Kingfisher Trade-In on the device you intend to trade in. If the device is a smart watch, use the paired device. Download Kingfisher Trade-In app for iOS here, or download Kingfisher Trade-In app for Android here.

2.      Complete device assessment

Follow the step-by-step guide to get an estimate on your device’s trade-in value.

3.      Prepare and send your device

Back up your information, remove your SIM and device lock and restore to factory settings. Drop off at your nearest Telstra store or Australia Post.

4.      Get credit

You'll receive notifications to track the progress of your request. Once your device has been assessed and accepted, we’ll apply credit to your account.

And that’s it! Terms and conditions apply, of course. Head to the ‘Things you need to know’ section below for more.

How much will I get for my device if I trade it in?

We’ve got a full guide on how much you can expect to get from a device that is in “good working order” on Telstra.com.

And remember: from Friday 15 September to 12 October, unless extended, we’ll give an additional bonus credit of $350 if you trade-up to a new phone from the iPhone 15 range.

Things you need to know

Offer starts 10pm AEST 15 September 2023 and runs to 11:59pm AEST 12 October 2023, unless extended.

$1250 credit is based on the purchase of an Apple iPhone 15 series phone and trade-in of an Apple iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB in good working order. $1250 credit is made up of $900 residual value of an iPhone 13 Pro Max 512GB in good working order and $350 of trade-in bonus credit.

Trade-in is managed by Kingfisher Mobile Australia Pty Ltd. To be eligible for trade-in, you must be a Telstra consumer or small business customer aged 18+, with a post-paid service and device with us on an upfront plan or with an existing 13 digit account number. Devices on Telstra Mobile Lease plans are ineligible. You may only trade-in a device from Kingfisher’s list of eligible devices.  The credit offer will vary depending on your device type, model and its working condition, and is subject to device assessment.  Bill credit applied by second bill, or to nominated credit/debit card within 30 days for Upfront Mobile plans.
