How to play Spot the Payphone on your road trip this Easter
Forget the usual spotto, punchbuggy, or eye spy. Introducing: Spot the Payphone – the ultimate road trip game to kick off your Easter School Holiday journey or to play while spending more time with kids in the car on school holidays.

With the Easter school holidays just around the corner, parents across the country are bracing themselves for the inevitable "Are we there yet?" from the back seat. Long road trips can be a challenge, but we have a new solution for you to help keep the kids entertained and engaged.
With over 14,000 payphones spread across the country, all with different colours, features and configurations it makes a great opportunity for a new kind of spotto. It's called Spot the Payphone and we've made a handy chart with the rules you can download below to print out or save on a tablet for the road. Each colour payphone awards different points and if you spot multiple payphones together in a row your points are multiplied.
To help keep store, we've also got for you a sheet you can save or print out to keep track of how many payphones everyone has found.
The game starts the second everyone gets in the car and finishes the moment the engine is turned off. For parents, we're hoping this might just be the best game since "Who Can Keep Quiet the Longest" yet.
Finding payphones is not just a fun game for the car, it can also help teach a valuable skill. It's crucial for kids to know where their nearest payphone is in case they need to make an emergency call and they're without a mobile phone or trusted adult. All calls from Telstra’s Payphones are free – all they need to know is the number to dial.
