Traditional security monitoring relies on devices that, when triggered, prompt a control room to contact the property owner, dispatch a response vehicle, or signal the police. KJ Electronic Security recognised this traditional approach was failing to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
Obtaining a security grading for a monitoring station and the impracticality of managing round-the-clock monitoring are additional challenges becoming all too common in the industry.

This partnership marked a significant shift in KJ Electronic Security’s approach to security monitoring, moving away from traditional methods and embracing the digital transformation of the industry.
SapioView – a security monitoring solution that integrates alarm and CCTV systems across client sites was implemented, leveraging Sapio’s technology and Telstra’s robust internet connectivity to deliver a streamlined, real-time surveillance and threat detection service.
SapioView’s video monitoring platform enables precise threat assessment, distinguishing between actual crimes and non-threatening events such as staff or cleaners at the premises. The solution reduces resource strain and ensures faster police response through verified alerts, removing the need to send patrols for false alarms. Video integration also means permanent physical guards may not be necessary across all customer sites, leading to substantial costs savings. Keith highlights these capabilities as a significant enhancement over traditional monitoring, which often resulted in blind responses.
The integration of alarm systems and CCTV, combined with outsourced monitoring, offers an attractive security package for providers and SMB clients.
