Frequently Asked Questions

If a tablet is Wi-Fi only, it means it doesn’t have a SIM card or eSIM and can only connect to the internet via Wi-Fi. It can’t connect directly to a mobile network using a data plan.

A Wi-Fi tablet doesn’t have a SIM card or eSIM, whereas a cellular tablet (4G or 5G tablet) does. Because of that, a Wi-Fi tablet can’t use a data plan to connect to the mobile network, while a 4G or 5G tablet can.

With a Wi-Fi tablet, your access to the internet is limited to the places where you’re able to access Wi-Fi. But a 4G or 5G tablet allows you to connect to the mobile network on an eligible data plan.

You can use a Wi-Fi tablet online wherever you’re able to access a Wi-Fi network, such as home, work or school. You can also access public Wi-Fi in places such as airports, shops and restaurants. Or, if you have a phone, you can set up a hotspot and connect that way.

We only sell Wi-Fi tablets outright, which means you make a one-off payment for the full price of the tablet at the time of purchase. You then own your tablet outright.
