Your domain is due to be transferred from Telstra to Online Essentials if you don’t have a Microsoft subscription. This page will help you navigate the change.

Transfer of Domain Names

Your domain name will be transferred between 4th and 27th of August 2025. The transfer will happen automatically between 1am to 4am AEST to minimise disruption to your business.

Make sure your ABN details are up to date to ensure your domain can be migrated and continue receiving support. To check and update your ABN, refer to the FAQ titled “How do I check and update my ABN?”

Your current domain name contract will be transferred to a new contract by Online Essentials. You can review your new contract terms at Online Essentials terms of service.

Your domain name will be renewed by Telstra and transferred to Online Essentials by Spotzer Digital during the transfer period in August.

No, your business won’t be charged for the transfer of your domain name.

You should avoid changing your domain settings from the 21st of July to the 15th of August. This will help ensure your website operates as normal after your domain is transferred to Online Essentials. You can continue to edit website pages during the transfer period.

To check your ABN:

  1. Log in to Telstra Apps Marketplace.
  2. Click your name in the top right corner, then select My Company from the dropdown.
  3. You’ll be taken to a page where you can view your business details including ABN, phone number, email, and address.

To update your ABN:

To change your business name or ABN, contact Telstra Apps Marketplace Customer Support at 1800 878 483.

To hold a registered .au domain, it is requirement of auDA that you have an active ABN. To check the status, re-register or renew your ABN, visit: https://abr.business.gov.au/ContactUs/Activate

Things you need to know

  • You may choose to transfer your domain name to another provider before it’s transferred to Online Essentials. To transfer your domain name, call 1800 878 483 from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm AEST to talk to a member of our Telstra Apps Marketplace (TAM) support team before 4th of August 2025.

  • At time of your domain name renewal, Online Essentials will require payment details to continue delivering its domain hosting service.
