Frequently asked questions

If you don’t know your Telstra ID username, you can recover your Telstra ID username.
If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset your Telstra ID password.

You may be eligible to use Telstra Plus points on a bill discount for a service if you’re a current Telstra Plus member with an eligible plan and have enough points.

If you’re eligible, you’ll receive a notification from us on your phone or see a points discounts on services in the Payments section of My Telstra.

You can put your Telstra Plus points towards a discount on your Telstra Upfront Mobile service or Telstra Upfront Internet service (excluding Satellite Plans), so long as there’s not an existing discount on that service.

Yes, you can add a discount to all eligible services on your account if you have enough points, but you can only add one discount at a time to a single service.

To check whether you have an existing discount on a service, follow these steps:

  1. Sign in to My Telstra
  2. Select Services
  3. Choose the service that you want to check
  4. Select View or manage your plan
  5. If you have a discount on this service you’ll see an information box with the message: You have a discount applied to your plan

To read the discount details, select View your discounts.

To use your points to discount a service, follow these steps: 

  1. If you received a notification from us, use the link provided in the notification, then go to step 4; or
  2. Sign in to My Telstra
  3. Go to the Payments section, and if you’re eligible to use points you’ll see an option to pay with Telstra Plus points. Select Use points
  4. Choose your discount from the available discounts presented, then select Next
  5. Choose which eligible service you’d like to apply the discount to, then select Next
  6. Review your selections
  7. Select Confirm.

Once you’ve applied a discount to an eligible service, the discounted amount will then form part of your overall monthly charge.

Things you need to know

To use a Telstra Plus points discount on a service, you must be a current Telstra Plus member with an eligible Telstra Upfront Mobile service or Telstra Upfront Internet service (excluding Satellite Plans) and have enough points.

If eligible, you’ll receive a notification from us on your phone or see a promotion for points discounts on services in the My Telstra app. Services with an existing discount are not eligible. Discounts or points are non-refundable, if you cancel your service prior to the discount finishing.

Eligibility criteria apply to redeem monthly discounts. Points are non-refundable and monthly discount may end early if you cancel or change your service early, unless the change is within the same plan family (i.e. from a Telstra Upfront Mobile Plan to another Telstra Upfront Mobile Plan, or from a Telstra Upfront Internet Plan to another Telstra Upfront Internet Plan – excluding Satellite Plans).

Bill discounts available to current Telstra Plus members with an eligible Telstra Upfront Mobile service or Telstra Upfront Internet service (excluding Satellite Plans) and who have enough points. Requires user activation via My Telstra.
