Telstra Vantage™ 2019 kicked off this morning, bringing to life the potential of Telstra’s Network of Networks with a powerful performance by dancer Alexis Strumolo. This was followed by engaging keynotes from Telstra Chief Executive Officer Andy Penn and Telstra Enterprise Group Executive, Mike Ebeid.
Building a connected future
Telstra CEO Andy Penn took to the stage and officially welcomed the audience to an experience that’s all about imagining what’s possible through the power of technology.
Acknowledging the speed of change in technology since the moon landing 50 years ago, a milestone that Telstra proudly played a role in, Andy noted that it’s the convergence of a number of breakthrough technologies arriving at scale that can create a tidal wave of innovation. Highlighting the main three, he said:
“Firstly, there’s cloud computing. Three companies in the world - Google, Amazon and Microsoft - are rolling out cloud computing to the extent that… we’re creating a world where compute capacity is increasing exponentially.
The second technology that’s important in this world of convergence is 5G – the next generation of mobile communications technology.
The third technology is Artificial Intelligence. It’s the fastest growing area of software engineering in the world… And it’s the convergence of these three technologies which are about to leap the world forward in an incredible period of innovation.”
With 5G sitting at the heart of this revolution as the connecting platform, Telstra is better positioned than any other Australian telco to help guide businesses through this rapid change.
A roadmap for transformation
Following on from Andy Penn, Group Executive, Telstra Enterprise Mike Ebeid AM spoke about transformation and the possibilities that lie ahead - if you have the right roadmap in place.
“In Australia right now, 70% of businesses have not started their own business transformation. Yet, every business is facing some sort of change that will really disrupt them and could make or break a lot of companies and a lot of industries.
And that is exactly why we started Telstra Vantage™ – to simplify the complex and to bring all of the solutions, the tech and of course the partners and our people together under one roof.”
Mike then outlined the clear roadmap for the transformation of Telstra Enterprise including the announcement of Telstra Purple, a game changer for Telstra and our customers. Named after a combination of ‘Purpose’ and ‘People’, Telstra Purple is a new professional and technology managed services business that helps guide clients tech and transformation strategies.
The future for Telstra and customers alike looks bright, and with two full days of innovation and inspiration to explore, Telstra Vantage™ is the place to be.
