Supplier Code of Conduct

Doing good business responsibly

Telstra views its suppliers as partners and cares about the way our suppliers do business.

Our Supplier Code of Conduct (PDF, 1.4MB) sets out the minimum standards of behaviour that Telstra expects its suppliers to meet in the areas of labour and human rights, health and safety, environment, business integrity, cyber security and privacy, and supplier diversity.

Telstra’s Supplier Self-Disclosure form allows suppliers to report a conflict of interest or labour incident to Telstra. Information provided will be used to help Telstra learn from incidents to prevent reoccurrence, monitor compliance and appropriately manage our relationships.

We are a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact, and participate in Global e-Sustainability initiative, showing our commitment to responsible business practices in all our markets. We are a member of the Joint Audit Cooperation (JAC), which is an association of telecom operators which verify, assess and develop the corporate social responsibility practices of suppliers in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) industry.

It is important to us that anyone can report concerns about illegal, unethical or improper conduct.  Telstra’s confidential and anonymous whistleblowing service can be accessed at www.telstra.ethicspoint.com.

For concerns that relate to, or involve, any of our services that are indirectly provided to the United States Government in our capacity as a subcontractor, you can also access the following two whistleblowing service channels (US Channels):

  1. 'The United States Office of Inspector General's Department of Defense Hotline',  at Hotline (dodig.mil) or by phone at 800-424-9098; and
  2. 'The Global Human Trafficking Hotline', via email at help@befree.org or by phone at 1-844-888-FREE.

Before you make a report using these US Channels, you should consider the differences in privacy protection, information capture, follow up processes and/or your other rights and protections as a whistleblower in the United States compared to Australia or other countries. Refer to the DoD Whistleblower Protection Brochure (PDF, 5.1MB) found at dodig.mil for more information.
