Debit / Credit Card
Recharging with your credit / debit card
Use your credit / debit card to recharge quickly and easily using one of the options outlined on this page.
Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club are all accepted.
Hints:
- Save your card details and choose a PIN, then recharge by simply sending an SMS
- By using a credit / debit card, you can schedule automatic recharges for your Telstra Pre-Paid mobile service. It's so convenient, as your credit is always topped up and ready to go.
Direct Debit
Recharging via Direct Debit from your cheque / savings account
You can recharge your Telstra Pre-Paid service anytime using your cheque or savings account. You'll first need to register for My Account Online.
- Step 1. Register for My Account Online
- Step 2. Choose 'Recharges / Update Payment Details' from the left-hand menu.
- Step 3. Choose to register your cheque or savings account for recharge. Follow the steps to complete your registration.
Now that you've registered your details, you can recharge using your cheque or savings account with My Account on your Pre-Paid mobile.
- Step 1. Click on the BigPond portal on your WAP enabled mobile. You may need to reset your WAP settings.
- Step 2. Access My Account via the My tab on 3G / Next G handsets.
- Step 3. Select Recharge.
- Step 4. Select Direct Debit.
- Step 5. Enter your PIN and follow the prompts.
BPAY®
Recharging using BPAY®
BPAY allows you to recharge your Telstra Pre-Paid mobile service via internet or phone banking. You can even set up automatic recharges.
- Step 1. Log on or call up your financial institution's internet banking or phone banking service to make a payment of any amount between $20 and $100 from your cheque or savings account only.
- Step 2. Select the 'BPAY' option and follow the prompts given by your participating financial institution. Please make a note of your receipt number.
Telstra Pre-Paid Biller Code is 150979.
Your Customer Reference Number is your 10 digit mobile number. - Step 3. We'll send you a text message when the credit has been added to your Telstra Pre-Paid service. The recharge credit should be applied to your Telstra Pre-Paid mobile service one banking day after your payment is received by Telstra.
Please note that as per any other BPAY transaction there may be a delay if you miss your bank's cut off times for BPAY transactions and on weekends and public holidays. You will need to be registered with your financial institution for telephone or internet banking to use BPAY.

PayPal™
Recharge using your PayPal™ account
Recharge straight from your mobile or online using your PayPal™ account. You will need your mobile number, your phone and your PayPal account details. If you don't already have a PayPal™ account you can sign-up to PayPal by registering here.
Once you've registered you can use your PayPal™ account to recharge via:
My Pre-Paid on your Mobile
- Step 1. Click on the BigPond Portal on your WAP enabled mobile. You may need to reset your WAP settings.
- Step 2. Scroll down and select My Account or access My Account via the My tab on 3G/Next G handsets.
- Step 3. Select the Recharge option.
- Step 4. Select the PayPal™ option.
- Step 5. Select the amount you would like to recharge.
- Step 6. Enter the PayPal™ recharge PIN you set up when you registered.
- Step 7. Confirm the amount you want to recharge.
- Step 8. You will receive a confirmation message with your new balance and credit expiry date.
OR you can access My Pre-Paid by pressing #100# Send on your Pre-Paid mobile and follow the prompts. On some mobiles you may need to press OK / answer twice.
OR you can Recharge online to make one-off payments using your PayPal™ account and password. You can also register your account details online to obtain a PIN (named an EZYPIN). The EZYPIN negates the need for you to enter your PayPal™ account details.

Credit Me2U®
Recharging using Credit Me2U®
The Credit Me2U service is a handy option that allows you to transfer credit between Telstra Pre-Paid services, or recharge a Telstra Pre-Paid service from your Telstra Post-Paid mobile account.
Credit Me2U via your Telstra Pre-Paid mobile
- Step 1. Click on the BigPond portal on your WAP enabled mobile.
You may need to reset your WAP settings. - Step 2. Scroll down and select My Account or access My Account via the My tab on 3G / Next G handsets.
- Step 3. Select Pre-Paid Transfer.
- Step 4. Select the Credit Me2U option.
- Step 5. Enter the phone number of the Telstra Pre-Paid mobile you wish to transfer credit to.
- Step 6. Enter how much credit you would like to send – between $1 and $10 a day – you'll be asked to confirm this. There is a 25c charge for each successful credit transfer.
OR you can access My Pre-Paid by pressing #100# Send on your mobile. On some mobiles you may need to press OK / answer twice.
Credit Me2U via your Telstra post-paid mobile
With post-paid Credit Me2U, you can perform a one-off credit transfer or set up a regular scheduled transfer to a Telstra Pre-Paid mobile.
- Step 1. Click on the BigPond portal on your Telstra post-paid 3G/Next G handset.
- Step 2. Access My Account via the My tab.
- Step 3. Select Pre-Paid Transfer.
- Step 4. Choose the Mobile account (Credit Me2U) option and follow the prompts. Recurring transfers need to be set up 24 hours in advance and require you to create a PIN. There is a 25c charge for each successful credit transfer. Any amount credited will be charged to the customer's post-paid mobile bill, in addition to the monthly access charge.
OR you can access My Pre-Paid by pressing #100# Send on your Telstra post-paid mobile. On some mobiles you may need to press OK / answer twice.
Each Telstra Post-Paid mobile can transfer:
- a maximum of $100 per month by one-off credit transfer
- a maximum of $300 per month by scheduled transfer
- a maximum of $400 per month combined one-off and scheduled transfers.
Hint: Make sure you check the mobile phone number and amount before sending, as transferred credit cannot be reversed or cancelled once confirmed.

Recharge via BigPond® on your mobile
If you've got a 3G or Next G® phone you might find it easier to use this option.
If you're using a debit or credit card you can store the card details securely and enter a PIN each time you want to recharge. This service is 'unmetered' so you won't pay data charges to access it on your Telsra device.
Step 1: Enter the BigPond portal on your WAP enabled Telstra Pre-Paid mobile.

Step 2: Scroll across to select the ‘My’ tab and then scroll down to “My Account’.

Step 3: Select ‘Recharge’ and choose your preferred payment option.

Step 3: After pressing ‘answer’ you’ll be prompted to input your selection. Press 1 and then ‘options, then ‘send’

Telstra SMS Recharge®
To set up, register your credit / debit card details and PIN at My Account.
To recharge, just SMS the recharge amount (space) and your 4-digit PIN to 125 88 85.
(E.g. Send '30 XXXX' to recharge $30.)
There's no charge to send the SMS.
