Telstra Tower

One of Canberra's most iconic landmarks

Telstra Tower is Canberra's iconic telecommunication tower, with unrivalled views of the local countryside. It is currently closed for refurbishment.

Closed for refurbishment

We are working through our plans for a refurbishment of the Telstra Tower.

In the meantime, it continues to act as a networking facility, hosting both Telstra and various other carriers and radio/TV broadcasters. We are unable to facilitate tours of any kind.

What is Telstra Tower?

Telstra Tower is Canberra's iconic telecommunication tower. It rises 195.2 meters above the summit of Black Mountain in Australia's capital city.

The Tower has been one of Canberra's most visited tourist attractions and offers panoramic views of the city and its surrounding countryside.

Telstra acknowledges the Ngunnawal people as the Traditional Custodians of this place we now call Canberra. We also acknowledge the Canberra region is a significant and an important meeting place to other Aboriginal Peoples.

Lighting up the Tower

The Telstra Tower has a state-of-the-art lighting system that allows us to ‘light up’ the Tower in various colours. We receive requests from a variety of organisations, ranging from charities to embassies and corporations throughout Australia.

While we attempt to work with as many organisations as we can, we cannot accept every request. All requests go to the Telstra Social Issues Governance Committee for review, and if agreed, we will inform you as soon as possible.

We do not accept requests that promote gambling, alcohol, tobacco, drugs or adult entertainment.
