The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna 4G device can be installed in your premises to help increase indoor coverage in Telstra Mobile Network coverage areas.
Our supply of the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna 4G is subject to the terms set out in this Critical Information Summary and the general terms of Our Customer Terms that are applicable to you. These can be found at telstra.com.au/customer-terms
- Requirements

For your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna to work correctly, you must:
- be in a Telstra Mobile Network coverage area and pass our qualification checks; and
- have a Telstra Mobile Network compatible mobile or mobile broadband device coupled with a suitable Telstra plan.
The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna is not designed to work in areas without Telstra Mobile Network coverage. If you are in a location where you can make and receive calls, the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna is not expected to improve the performance of that location, but it can extend that coverage to other indoor locations in the same premises with poor coverage.
We will only sell you a Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna when you meet the requirements of our service qualification checks. If you have passed our service qualification checks and later move the device to another property, and this site does not meet the service qualification checks, you won’t be entitled to a refund.

The minimum term is 24 months if you take up the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna on a 24 month repayment option.
- Installation
-
The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna has two components which require separate power points, and the device is not waterproof so the device cannot be placed outdoors. The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna comes with a Quick Start Guide which shows you how to set up and install it. You can choose to install the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna yourself in which case, please follow the installation instructions contained in the Quick Start Guide.
Alternatively, you may choose to have Telstra professionally install the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna for you for an additional fee. If you choose the professional installation option for your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna, we’ll arrange an appointment with you for the technician to perform the installation.

- there are no network cables or complex settings. The two Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna components (being the Network and Coverage units) each need to be plugged into a standard 240V power supply

- Extended handset battery life – the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna can help improve your handset’s battery life by reducing the amount of battery power it needs to connect to the Telstra Mobile Network.

- What’s not included?

You must have a Telstra Mobile Network compatible mobile or mobile broadband device and an eligible Telstra mobile or mobile broadband plan to use your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna. These are not included with the Smart Antenna.

The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna includes a radiocommunications transmitter that operates on our Telstra Mobile Network. We authorise your use of the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna when we supply it to you. See the Authorisation section for more information.

- Repayment option

You can buy the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna outright or on a 24-month repayment option. If you choose a repayment option:
- and you cancel your Telstra mobile or mobile broadband service, we may not be able to continue your monthly repayment option (in which case, you would need to pay the full outstanding balance on the Smart Antenna);
- the outstanding balance of your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna payments decrease by equal installments each month that you remain on the repayment option.
- Minimum cost

Minimum monthly cost is $40 (including GST) if you select the 24 month repayment option and billed according to your monthly billing cycle.
The maximum retail price for the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna is $960 including GST (there is no delivery charge).
Professional installation is an additional charge, payable upfront for which Telstra will provide a quote to you before commencing any work.
- Early termination

If you want to cancel the 24 month repayment option before the end of the 24-month period, you’ll need to pay any outstanding balance remaining on your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna.
The maximum early repayment option you’ll pay is $960 including GST.

- Authorisation

The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna includes a radiocommunications transmitter.
It’s a requirement under Australian law that, in order for you to switch on and use your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna, we must authorise you to operate it. Our authorisation is set out below. This authorisation, and your acceptance of it, is a condition of sale by us to you of the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna. Please keep this document as evidence of your legal authorisation to operate your Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna.
The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna is designed to ensure it doesn’t cause interference to other mobile phone users and is legal for use in Australia. Provided you make ordinary use of the Telstra Mobile Smart
Antenna and don’t tamper with it, your use will be in compliance with your obligations under Australian law.
Authorisation under section 68 and section 114 of the Radiocommunications Act (Cth) 1992:
- Telstra Corporation Limited (‘Telstra’) is the holder of radiofrequency spectrum licences and apparatus licences under the Radiocommunications Act (Cth) 1992 (‘the Act’) which are used to provide public mobile telecommunications services (‘Telstra Licenced Spectrum’). Copies of these licences are available from the Register of Radiocommunications Licences on the website of the Australian Communications and Media Authority at acma.gov.au
- The Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna operates within Telstra Licenced Spectrum. When the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna is operated:
- within the boundaries of a spectrum licence issued to Telstra this Authorization is provided by Telstra under section 68 of the Act; or
- within the boundaries of an apparatus licence issued to Telstra this Authorisation is provided by Telstra under section 114 of the Act.
- Telstra authorises the purchaser of the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna to operate the Smart Antenna at any location in Australia that is within Telstra Licenced Spectrum.
- The purchaser of the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna has obligations under the Act which apply whenever the purchaser operates the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna. For example, operation of the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna must comply with applicable regulation under the Act prohibiting interference to radiocommunications devices operated by other licencees.
- To ensure compliance with obligations relating to management of interference, the purchaser should contact Telstra immediately on the following number if the purchaser suspects that the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna may be causing interference with other devices:
- residential customers can call 13 2200 (coverage)
- business customers can call 13 2000 (coverage) or contact your account executive.
- Mobile Broadband Speeds

While the Telstra Mobile Smart Antenna is designed to increase the strength of signal for your Telstra mobile service, we can’t guarantee that it will improve Telstra Mobile Network coverage or mobile broadband speeds at your premises to a particular level.
Telstra Mobile Network signal and speeds may vary due to factors such as location, distance from the base station, local conditions, concurrent users, hardware and software configuration.
- Billing

If you take up the repayment option, you’ll be billed in advance for the Monthly Charge on the same day of each month. Your first bill will include a proportion of the monthly charge calculated from the date the charge has been applied. For each following billing period you will be charged the monthly charges in advance.
