Telstra’s Number Verification API uses our mobile network to confirm that a phone number belongs to the user. It works in the background, eliminating the need for OTPs or third-party authenticator apps.
Number Verification API can:

During its initial release, the API can only verify Telstra mobile numbers. The API is currently available for distributors and aggregators and coming soon for eligible Enterprise customers.
