Telstra extends naming rights partnership with Adelaide Oval for another five-years
Telstra has extended its naming rights and technology and innovation partnership with Adelaide Oval for another five years.
This follows the success of the initial five-year partnership, during which time 10 million people visited the Adelaide Oval. The telecommunications company will retain naming rights to the Telstra Plaza.
Patrons have benefitted greatly from the relationship with Telstra’s technology providing Adelaide Oval with the best stadium connectivity in Australia – and now that’s going to get even better.
“We’re very pleased to be extending the naming rights deal with Telstra and to have the opportunity to build on what has been an enormously successful partnership,” said Adelaide Oval CEO Andrew Daniels.
“As our official technology and innovation partner, Telstra has been instrumental in ensuring that our patrons enjoy the best level of connectivity during the large events at the Adelaide Oval.
“We certainly want to maintain our leading position and Telstra will play a big part in enabling us to continue to provide fans with an outstanding experience when they visit Adelaide Oval. The partnership extension means Adelaide Oval will remain one of the country’s most technically advanced stadiums and that’s good news for everyone.”
Benefits from the naming rights and technology and innovation partnership at Adelaide Oval include the Telstra brand being exposed to more than 1.8 million patrons every year.
Telstra’s SA Regional General Manager Mark Bolton is looking forward to the future opportunities the renewed partnership extension will deliver to both the Adelaide Oval and Telstra.
“Besides extending the size of the Telstra Plaza to now cover from the southern to eastern gates, this new partnership will help Adelaide Oval identify ways to improve the technology experiences of customers who attend Adelaide Oval,” he said.
“A great example of the increasing demand for mobile connectivity was at the Crows vs Power Showdown in July this year, where there were over 50,000 people in attendance. There were over 36,000 voice calls made from the stadium and over 1,000 GB of data downloaded across the Telstra network.
“This partnership also highlights Telstra’s commitment to South Australia and enables us to showcase our technology and innovation at one of Australia’s best sporting stadiums.”
