4G Technology Trials
From the start of 2015, we’re evolving Telstra’s 4G to 700Mhz. This aims to deliver even faster 4G speeds than existing Telstra 4G, stronger signals in buildings, and expanded coverage across regional and remote locations.
Trials are already underway across city and regional areas, including selected parts of:
• Perth, Fremantle and Esperance in Western Australia
• Griffith in New South Wales
• Mildura in Victoria
• Mt Isa in Queensland
Largest coverage area
The Telstra Mobile Network is Australia's largest mobile network covering more than 2.3 Million square kilometres – that's over twice what the other networks say they cover*. The Telstra Mobile Network also offers the largest 4G coverage area of any Australian mobile network. Telstra 4G is available in all capital CBDs, many suburban areas and over 300 regional towns across Australia.
