Free calls to New Zealand
There are many Kiwis who call Australia home. Right now, as they open up social media or turn on their TVs, they’re hit with images of New Zealand being rocked by a cyclone, an earthquake and floods.

We want to help by making it a bit easier to keep in touch. Because at a time like this, you don’t want to have to worry about the cost of a call to families, friends, colleagues and loved ones. We want to do our bit and make it easier to reach out to those who may be affected.
All calls to New Zealand from Telstra home phones, post-paid and pre-paid mobiles will be free from midnight tonight until 3 March.
To our Telstra team in New Zealand, we are thinking of you. We will continue checking in and chatting through how we can best support you.

Things you need to know
- All calls to New Zealand from Telstra home phones, post-paid and pre-paid mobiles will be free from 12:01am AEDT on 18 February 2023 to 11:59pm AEDT on 3 March 2023.
- Customers on Telstra Pre-Paid need to have an active recharge on their account within its expiry period.
- Depending on your account, some people may not see the free calls logged in their call records.
- Free calls are from Australia only, and don’t include calls while roaming overseas.
