How it works

The image shown is a flow diagram of call flows where Telstra BRS+ is present and pre-defined call redirection plans are in place. This scenario shows, the customer has dialled an 07 (Brisbane number), but given an outage, the Business Resumption Plan 1 has been activated and calls redirected to the Sydney (02 number) back-up site.
Customers may set up a number of pre-defined plans to redirect calls to other numbers and sites. If a planned or unplanned network outage occurs, via a simple management tool accessed via the internet, these plans can be activated and calls diverted to the desired number. In the image shown, the customer has dialled 07, but given an outage, the Business Resumption Plan 1 has been activated and calls redirected to the Sydney back-up site.

Telstra BRS+ integrates the secure nimbus Web Portal with Telstra’s SIP Trunking network service to deliver business continuity capabilities, including programmed multiple call forward plans.

The ability to rapidly redirect incoming calls from primary to back-up / business continuity plan (BCP) sites is often overlooked until an outage event occurs. With BRS+, authorised end users can easily create plans, modify and quickly deploy network-based call diversions to large groups of numbers prior to any planned or unplanned network outage.
