It will depend on your device specifications.

For the best possible experience on the Telstra Mobile Network, use a handset that supports 3G 850MHz and both 4G 1800MHz and 4G 700MHz frequency banding.

Good to know:

  • For your device to work on our mobile network, it must be also unlocked from your previous provider first.

How can I check if my device is compatible?

  • Use our online device tool to find out if the device you’re using is compatible with the Telstra Mobile Network
  • You can also call us if you have any further questions on 13 22 00 and say ‘mobile enquiry’.

Will I be able to make calls and send SMS?

As long as your handset supports one of the above frequency bands, you will be able to make and receive calls and SMS.

What about the internet?

Your device should also work for data and internet browsing as long as your device supports internet usage and can access one of the above frequency bands.

Do I need to upgrade my device?

No - if you are happy with the performance of your device and you have checked that it is compatible with the Telstra Mobile Network, there is nothing you need to do.
