Who provides the updates; Telstra or the phone manufacturer?

We do it together. Telstra works with the device manufacturers to update device software. It generally works like this:

  1. The manufacturer notifies Telstra of coming software updates.
  2. They submit the software to us for testing.
  3. We test for a minimum of two weeks, to make sure the software update will work with our software and our network.
  4. If the testing is successful we advise the manufacturer, who then makes the software available to you.
