Are my credit card details secure on BigPond Movies?

Yes, we use the VeriSign security system which provides 128-bit SSL encryption.

This means that when you buy or rent a movie, your username, password and credit or debit card details are scrambled to keep them secure.

To give you even more security, BigPond Movies staff can only see a shortened version of your card number.

Why did you charge me $1 when I entered my card details?

When you enter new credit or debit card details, the system makes a temporary charge to check your details are correct and your account is valid.

Good to know:

  • The $1 does not actually come out of your account. The charge usually disappears from your online statement within 48 hours.

What is a card validation code?

It’s a 3 or 4 digit number usually back of your credit card, used as an added level of security.

For Mastercard and VISA:

Your card validation code is the 3-digit code on the back of your card.

For American Express®:

Your card validation code is the 4-digit code on the front of your card.
