Does the use of a Virtual Private Network (VPN) affect my ability to access, send or receive emails?
Yes, the use of a VPN may affect your ability to access, send or receive emails.
This is because a VPN encrypts your internet traffic and disguises your real identity/ IP address (Internet Protocol) by giving you a different IP address.
As part of our ongoing security to help keep you safely connected, we block certain IP addresses from reaching your server. So, if the IP address that your VPN assigned to you happens to be one of those IP addresses, then you won't be able to access, send or receive your emails.
How can I check if my VPN is affecting my ability to access, send or receive my emails?
Check if the VPN is active during your email use. If it is, then turn it off and try sending or receiving your emails. If your email is working, then the inability to access your emails was because of your VPN.
