  • Your plan may have a speed tier or a maximum line speed, but your actual speed will always depend on where you are, and what broadband technology type you are connected to.
  • We are unable to tell you your maximum achievable speed until your service is up and running.
  • If your broadband is already up and running, you can find out for yourself by doing a speed test.
  • Check out the tables below for typical speeds on the different technologies:

On our existing technology:

Technology type Maximum Line Speed
ADSL Standard Speed N/A*

ADSL2+ Standard Speed

N/A*
Cable Speed Maximum of 50Mbps into the home
Cable Speed (with Premium Speed Boost) Maximum of 100Mbps into the home

*ADSL speeds can be affected by many factors, so we don’t give a maximum speed.

On Telstra Velocity:

Telstra Velocity Speed Tiers Typical minimum speeds between 7pm-11pm
Standard Evening Speed 10Mbps

Actual speeds may vary, including due to your location/equipment/ software, data source, and internet traffic. Speeds may be slower when your devices are connected by Wi-Fi rather than Ethernet cable or if you’re a Telstra Air member and you’re using your home broadband service at the same time as a hotspot user.

On the nbn™ network:
